crossfirex
Anyone think it's possible to make armor modifications? Such as re-inforced plating and such.
Moraelin
If you can edit a mesh, you can literally do any shape you wish. Edit: or for some things you can get away with just changing the texture.
crossfirex
I ment to modify them like weapons. I mean... the feature is already implemented on weapons. Could it possibly be implemented on armor?
Moraelin
Ah. Hmm, I never tried, so no idea. Worst case scenario, it could be done with a script. Like you could have an armor mod kit which, when used, removes an unmodded armor from your inventory and gives you a modded one instead.
vilkatis
I think i can do something like that.I need more details as i`m low on inspiration right now. What mods could that be?I thought of several, like a mod that would increase inv storage by adding an exoskellet to your armor, maybe a little speed increase.increasing an armor`s DT,or decreasing it`s weight.add ideas to this list

Stuff like that.
Geeves83
I'm hoping that the Imp of the Perverse is going to be bringing his Powered Power Armor mod to NV. It was kind of an armor modification deal like you speak of, but only for power armor....you could add things that boosted your speed and strength and weapon skill, melee damage and the like. Also, you have to keep your power armor charged as a trade off; when it's charged you can do some pretty cool stuff all modded up, but the more things you have the faster the charge drains, and when your drained your basically wearing a large heavy slab of metal. I think he did all his work with some pretty involved scripts. Edit: Actually, he IS planning on porting it over, I guess;"Good news, a beta of the New Vegas version of FOSE is up. I'm planning to port this mod over to New Vegas exactly as it is (at first) as soon as I'm done with the New Vegas version of Imp's More Complex Needs." Good stuff. jimbo553
Sounds cool, but it'd be nice to have it for more stuff than Power Armor, I'm sure if you found someone skilled at scripting ( not me ) you could have them make something, but I'm almost certain you can't do it without a script, unless of course you change the game engine. Ideas: Leather Armor -Reinforced Leather Patches = + 15 health or some DR, Combat Armor - HERMES Implant = + Run Speed or MedX Injector with the Medic Power Armor from FO3 script. dra6o0n
Armor Crafting should be the first thing to do on the list.Like: (25 Repair) Leather Armor + 4 Scrap Metals + 2 Wonderglue = Leather Armor Reinforced (50 Repair) Leather Armor Reinforced + 8 Scrap Metals + Hammer + Turpentine = Light Metal Armor (75 Repair) Metal Armor + 10 Scrap Metals + Hammer + 2 Turpentine = Metal Armor Reinforced Heck, you can possibly craft leather armor from tanned gecko hides, and maybe better hides will result in better armor of the same type.
