A mod policy question... for a moderator/admin

I will be quick and straight to the point.

I have a Starcraft Ghost Mod that I would like to update with some new content resources.

Recently Blizzard put out Starcraft 2, as I am sure you're all aware, and with it comes a very extensive modding tool of its own.

Within the modding toolset, is also surprisingly readily available Starcraft 2 resources (some of which are the models used in interactive components of the game).

I was hoping to use these model resources in my mods. If I properly link/credit Blizzard with all the resources that were used, would the mod be allowed on Nexus?

References for you to see which models I am talking about:

If and only if starcraft's Blizzard allows free use of their assets in a different game - This is not very likely as Blizzard does not allow use of WOW assets. But you can ask them. Please be prepared to show us documentation if they give a go ahead to use their assets. Just saying they said it's OK won't work. We need a post on an official site or a letter from them authorizing use of their assets.

Did you read the forum posts of the description in your second link?

As long as !!all!!! (mesh/texture) is your work only inspired by the original modells no problem.

Simply porting from another game is not allowed as far as I know.

Edit: Got :ninja: with a better answer. ;)

FPSBanana's rules are not ours. Liberal usage of the word 'illegal' by a bunch of random posters in their comments sections didn't concern me much, as this question is posed for theNexus community.

I went through the EULA for Starcraft 2. Technically there's nothing in their agreements that would be violated for my using of the 3d models for a public/non-commercial mod.

That being said, as requested by Bben46, I've made a post on the Starcraft 2 mapmakers official questions thread inquiring about this, and I've also contacted their support department.

Thank you Bben46 for responding in a timely manner.
