Master Index Upgrade - available anywhere?

According to some sources, this mod by Garren and/or Poobah (alternate name?) makes it a bit easier to use the official master index plugin.

However, at this late date, all links for the mod seem to be dead (e.g. - planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com.)

I found something on a Russian site, but I question whether it is legit. One site that links to gamespy says it should be 2.77KB, however the Russian zip file is 69KB, and it has the following:

-readme_masterindex.txt (the official plugin readme)

-ReadMe.htm (in Russian, from fullrest.ru)

-Master Index Upgrade Readme.txt (afaik, the correct readme from Garren/Poobah, dated 2008-10-05.)

-Scrins (folder) with a screenshot

-Images (folder) with 3 images/textures

-Data Files (folder)

--Master_Index_Upgarded.esp (52,318B, 2010-01-07)

--Master_Index_Upgarded.bsa (9464B, 2008-05-06)

According to the readme, there should just be a single file called Master Index Upgrade.esp, the misspellings, file size difference, and dates that don't match the readme seem odd to me.

If anyone knows where I could find the original mod, or would be willing to post it, I'd greatly appreciate it.

EDIT: Never mind, I found it at mw.moddinghistory.com, which had previously given me errors any time I tried to connect for the past day or two.

MMH was down the last couple of days.

Anyways, MMH is the place to look for old mods hosted on planetelderscrolls, EliricM etc.

Yeah, when MMH works, it's great for those dead gamespy, ElricM links, etc. I only really started looking for mods a few days ago, I might have come across MMH a couple of times from Google, and then it was broken every time after that. It looks like it's down again today (server maintenance? angry script-kiddiez with DDOS?

There was a problem. It is seemed to be fixed.

It may not be 100% what you are looking for but you should take a look at this: http://download.fliggerty.com/download-13-1079

Thank you for that, I've found a couple of piecemeal fixes here and there, but not the full set.

-Expanded LeFemme Armour 1.0 -- 13-6-2013

Authors: Moranar (made parts of the models, and made the icons); tiebrakre (made parts of

the models, and made the textures).

-Master Index Journalfix 1.0 (6/05)

Created by DeusXMachina ([email protected])

-Master Index Upgrade

Created by Poobah (Garren at Bethesda forums)

-Area Effect Projectiles (replaces Area Effect Arrows)

Created by btb

1. Do I still need the Master Index Journal Fix?

-This little fix does nothing but adding the Masterindex-quests given by Folms Mirel in the Mages guild Caldera to the open and finished questlists in the upgraded journal which came with Tribunal.

Is that the same as what was added to the Official Plugins pack?

-OPF: Made the quest show up in Quest section in journal.

-----

2. Will there be a problem using the updated Official Plugin and the Master Index Upgrade? Both the MI Upgrade and the MI Journal Fix use those unique names for the .esp files, so I presume they will work with the updated Master Index.esp.

The original Bethesda plugin is just shown as master_index.esp, while the replacement one is [Official]Master Index.esp, so should I have all three activated - original, Official, and the Upgrade?

-----

3. As far as the other two mods go, it looks like Arrows was just cleaned up for the Official version, so I don't think Projectiles would cause any problem.

On the LeFemme, the Official version removed the armor from Sirollus Saccus, while the expanded version adds male gold domina chest and helm. Supposedly, that will change what he is wearing. The expanded .esp file REPLACES the original Bethesda .esp. Will there be a conflict with that?

I'm new to modding Morrowind, although I know my way around a computer. I haven't done very much actual modding, as opposed to downloading others' mods and installing them.

1, I think the journal fix is included, just test it by checking the journal when you get the quest and install the journal fix and reload the save if not.

2 it sounds like they may conflict but I have not seen the master index upgraded and I can't read Russian so I won't be able to tell

3. It is not the projectiles it is the GMSTs and possible dirty references in the plugins that will cause problems so I would still replace that. The concepts of GMSTs are... complicated but the main point is any plugin with "evil" GMSTs in morrowind will cause potential crashes and other bugs. Dirtiy refferences are references that are the same as their masters IE morrowind esm but have the potential to cancel out edits from other mods. Cleaning is getting rid of both of those.

From what I can gather, all of these were cleaned by the modders. I'll just try it without the Master Index Journalfix, as it sounds like the updated version already does that.

2. On the Master Index Upgrade, the first version I found was the funky Russian one (now deleted,) but I later found the original English one at MMH. It lets you travel from propylon to propylon, instead of having to go back to Caldera each time. - http://mw.modhistory.com/download-90-12962

3. BTB's Area Effect Projectiles - http://mw.modhistory.com/download-98-14181 I may try the game without using this one for a while, as he tweaked quite a bit of stuff, and I don't know if that means "nerfed" or "improved."
