A way to test the fan, that isn't preferred, but it will get a sure result is;

Open the Fan Profile tab.

Change the setting to 100%

if the noise gets a higher pitch, then you know it's the fan. :thumbsup:

What's your power supply rated at? 500, 600, 700W?

The games you have problems with is not what I notice as GPU killers (like Crysis, that game burnt up an 8800GT card for me).

 

If you get high pitched noises like tinnituses, that indicate some kind of high power switch circuits failures in the power supply or on the mother board. Might be on the GPU as some others suggested also but I'm more inclined to think you have the problem somewhere else in your rig than on the GPU card.

 

Your sure this sound is not from your speakers? If so it not make things more easy to solve but it point at things that might make others give a more precise diagnosis. :thumbsup:
