TheHeston
I admit, this is my first time using the G.E.C.K., so maybe I should've taken it a bit slower, but it seemed straightforward enough. I use the Advanced Recon Armor pack, and the Anti-Material rifle clips terribly into the ranger variation of the armor (Like, it looks like it's inside of you). So I went into the G.E.C.K. and changed the animation type from TwoHandRifle to TwoHandAutomatic. Booted up NV and, huzzah!, it no longer clipped into the armor and it was carried like a normal sniper rifle. It also had the unfortunate side-effect of no longer being able to fire; I had rendered the most powerful rifle in the game impotent with my incompetence. I had also saved my change into the game file, confident I'd just be able to switch it back. No dice, because, again, I'm a huge G.E.C.K. noob. So I made another file to switch the rifle back to its default animation and turned it on. Gun fires and works like normal again, so long as the mod is on, but it once again clips like ass. So I guess what I'm getting at is, does anyone have any tips or possible work-arounds, advice, harsh, abusive criticisms, etc.? I'm all ears. throttlekitty
Well, you can't really solve the clipping issues with the GECK, you'd need to reshape the model for either the gun or armor in a 3d application. Not really a hard task, I'm going to guess the stock is too long in the back?
FluidFire
Yeah you kind of got your hands tied with the default skeletons. Their arms won't "wrap around" a rifle stock, the stock will stick through. Ran in to the same problem when adding the Barrett M82A1 to my Reload mod. Just limitations of the game we gotta live with. If you like big guns, go check out Reload. I've added in 13 new calibers (including 300 Win Mag, 338 Lapua, 416 Barret), 50 new ammo subtypes, and 34 new weapons in to the game, with more to come... And those aren't just player weapons. All of them are usable by NPC's and distributed to the factions on a "makes sense" basis, so you'll see Omerta thugs with G36's, Fiends and gangs with AK47's, NCR troopers with M4 carbines, 7.62mm assault rifles, M249's and Barretts, and Legion troopers with pick-up weapons of all varieties. Fair warning, though, it does make the game a bit tougher.
ecksile
To fix the clipping you have to open the 2handrifle holster animation and adjust the final static spot in the animation. You would have to do this for the sneak animations as well. Remember by doing this all other guns that use the 2handrifle animation will also sit farther back then normal and may create a gap between the player and the holstered weapons making it look as if they aren't even attached to the player.
