Like it says, original riddles.

The first person to get the right answer either can post their own, or can relinquish that priviledge, allowing anyone to post the next one. Here's an easy one to start with:

 

A salty red,

tears of the dead

are pressed from fields of strife

 

A mother's tears,

a soldier's fears

may have this at their core

 

A tyrant's schemes,

a patriot's dreams

require this to bloom

Edit 2: looking at time.gov (my computer clock was 10 minutes off) it has the eastern seaboard as " Coordinated Universal Time -4 hours; Daylight Saving Time". Does CUT not have daylight savings?
