scruples, your works looks amazing and cant wait to see finished version and thats why Im going to give my little info bits of how to make models.

You made amazing looking boots but you could make it faster if you would use bumbmapping when doing textures, all the little detail and the edging on the feet especialy. Im not saying that the thing you did is bad or wrong in anyways but it would consume less time and make the model lighter to process.

Again, I am not saying that what you do is wrong, it would just lighten your own workload if you use this shortcut and make the details in texturing and not in modeling

+), For some reason I have never been good at texturing, its pretty-much my weakest attribute, and so my models always suffer because of it.

So for that ^ reason I always try to do more modeling than texturing, and Zbrush helps me do that :P, thx tho.

Below you can see my crappy texturing, (below waist)

Other than adding some cavity masking, I do everything by hand, with the standard brush...

so I dont really have any techniques....I change the brush settings (focus, size, scatter etc) but nothing more than that.

What I am saying is I wouldn't mind any insights you have.

Yesterday I just worked on cleaning up the lowpoly normals and maximizing the UV space, as a result there is nothing interesting to show ya.

[Edit] oh yeah I should mention I intend to bake some ambient occlusion into the diffuse lator.

Scruples it's looking good so far. You have enough details in the mesh and normals that you don't need to do much more than what you already have done with the lower half. A little but of grunge here and there a decent specular map is all it will take for it to look great in-game.

I've done some modding with the GECK so I can help you with that when the time comes if you like.

Amazing work, here. Wish I could be of more help, but all I know in terms of modding is a bit of GECK-work. Scripting is slightly above my level, but I get a kick out of slaving over a hot new set of armor, and tricking it out with resistances, attribute-raisers, and a cool name, before sticking it somewhere useful. You're probably already good at that sorta stuff yourself, considering your progress with the model and textures, but if you need some advice on statting the armor out or something, feel free to drop me a line.
