tphive
Is there a truly all-inclusive "One install, that's all" mod out there, that has basically all the great and 'Essential' mods out there jammed in one easy to use package, and where each mod in the pack is fully compatible (and optimized?) with everything else in the pack. I know there are things like FCOM, and that's really the closest I've seen to this. But FCOM requires a fair amount of Wyrebash and other less than simple To-Do's, and there are many other "Essential Mods" out there that are not included in FCOM, (Better Cities, Reneer's Guard Overhaul, various visual enhancement mods, Oblivion Explosives, Thieves Arsenal, Beautiful Peopleetc.) Basically, I've several times in the past, spent enormous amounts of time with a friend of mine trying to build "The Perfect Oblivion", making it an enjoyable, immersive and fully functional experience even on a 4 year old game on a very limited engine. And the side effect of this, is that we never actually get around to PLAYING the game. x_x The furthest I've gotten in this game was my first time, before I was even aware of the mods available to it, and I got maybe half way through the game. Not to mention the fact that we could never get FCOM or Better Cities to work with acceptable framerates, even on VERY adequate systems and having spent a lot of time trying to troubleshoot it, any thoughts? I really just want to play Oblivion soon, and really enjoy it, been playing Risen recently, and love it, but there's just a 'scale' and fullness that Oblivion has, without proper mods however, it can be a very dull and incomplete world as well. Lastly, mod packs tend to just have a meaningless list of mod names with no summary or description as to what they do, it'd be nice if any recommended mods had a thorough but not overly exhaustive description. Thank you very much to anyone with any useful information or links to share or contribute. Note: Sorry if this is perhaps in the wrong category or if it's already been addressed, in past efforts I really couldn't find anything solid on the topic, feel free show me otherwise. Edit: Fixed 'Wall-o-text", forum broke it before somehow. O.o
Smooth613
Wall-o-Text o_O Short answer: No, not possible due to the necessity of Wrye Bash and various patches to have mods function in co-existence.
TodaY
You could try some mod lists - most have everything you talk about while ebing compitable. However, I do suggest to read up on bash, it's very usefull when trying to do the same thing you are.I also suggest BOSS, which will sort your LO for you
Luminiari
Wall-o-Text o_O All those break tags scream HTML formatting issue. Seems tphive TRIED to break it up into paragraphs but it didn't quite work... it's happened to me, too. @ tphive: Following on Smooth613's comment, even if one were to get all that sort of stuff together and working with Wrye Bash, you'd have to worry about file permissions. Some modders don't like having their work consolidated with other stuff which would make it difficult to create a 'Supermod' package. The closest anyone's gotten is the Broli/v/ion mod from 4Chan *shudder*, but it uses a lot of stuff without permission.

I understand the <br> are a formatting issue and have had the same happen to me, as have you. Still it doesn't change the fact this post is harder to read because of this. I was merely making an observation. Anyway yes you bring up a very good point about permissions. Most authors don't like their mods scattered about on 10 different hosts, understandably so, for upkeep reasons. I mean I would much rather update 2 maybe 3 sites each time then track down 8 or 10 different ones. Such as hassle.
