What am I doing wrong?

Any mods that come with an .esp file I can get to work fine because they show up. Any mods that require just putting files in the data folder with no .esp to go with it don't work. I'm using steam and I made an OMOD of the mod I want, yet when I play the game the vanilla models and textures are loaded.

Are there any other ways to do this or am I missing something?

Missing Textures - New additions not showing up in game.

Scroll down to the Pink or Missing Textures Section.

You likely need Archive Invalidation.

I have all the content mods I want working such as dungeons/houses etc. It's everything without a .esp that I have trouble with. Basically I can only get one mod to work using OBMM. How do you use multiple OMOD's at once. Should I make one big OMOD out of each archive/folder or keep them separate. Also, most mods say "drop the data files in your data folder" which I've read doesn't work in Steam. Making OMOD's of these doesn't work so what should I do?

I'm not sure where you read that but it's false. The STEAM version is no different than a DVD version, with a few exceptions.

1. You need to use a different loader for OBSE

2. The installation path is slightly different, involving some extra directories to get to Oblivion. Default is C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion Once you're in the Oblivion directory the structure is identical to a DVD version. I have both so I'm 100% sure of this.

You install mods for the STEAM version exactly like you install mods for the DVD version. There is no difference. You extract the files directly to your Data folder or whatever folder the mods documentation specifies. If you use OBMM or Wrye Bash they will detect the default STEAM location and you should have zero problems.

You can create as many OMODs as you want. I don't really use OBMM anymore, I much prefer BAIN, but I would suggest you make an OMOD for each individual mod. Follow LHammonds OBMM How-to for more information. Honestly I'm not sure what else to tell you other than follow the ReadMe's and documentation for each mod and utility.

I just reinstalled today, using my STEAM GOTY Deluxe version so I'm 100% sure of all of this, especially since it's fresh in my head. Don't treat the STEAM version any different, there is no need to. Everything works exactly the same for both versions.

What specific non .esp mods are you trying to use? If you're referring to something like this that only has meshes and textures, it's not going to appear in game unless you make an .esp that includes the new stuff. Without a plugin, the game doesn't know where to put the stuff.
