devinpatterson
Oh yeah on another note I don't want to bring back K-9 since he is dead according to the Fallout Bible. (Issue 6) K-9 (from Navarro) "After getting his motivator repaired, K-9 was left in NCR by the Chosen One so that he could receive necessary repairs from Dorothy and, not long after his recovery, Dr. Henry (who had been placed in critical condition after being reportedly assaulted by the Chosen One some time earlier). Dr. Henry, afraid that too much information about the Enclave would be obtained from K-9, attempted to destroy the cyborg, but was stopped by cyberdog and Dorothy, who suspected what Dr. Henry was planning. The NCR government used the attack as an excuse to confiscate K-9 and cyberdog in order to learn more information about the Enclave as well as what makes the two of them "tick." At last report (and over Dorothy's objections), K-9 and cyberdog were disassembled and analyzed. Structural damage during the disassembling is reported to have killed them both." that sucks, that's sad :( But is the K-9 technology definitely unique? Pardon my ignorance of the FO2 story line, but is there a chance the project or technology lives on in some form or could have been duplicated? If so you could have a K-9 variant, which might be a lot more fun to create since you have total control over the back story personality etc.

And yes there were other cyberdogs, only K-9 was intelligent supposidly, as mentioned above there was a second cyberdog companion in Fallout 2 (but he was like Rex, a regular dog brain) and he was a lot weaker, and actually described as K-9's "flaccid" counter-part. He was made by the NCR trying to copy the Enclave, while K-9 was an Enclave based work. So we can assume Rex is a badly made NCR-based cyberdog. Perhaps if we write it in, we could make it that when you take Rex to Dr. Richards (the one in Jacostown is also the one from the story above). Dr. richards will offer to upgrade him to an Enclave class of Cyberdog with full cybernetics and the intelligence boost, (Which I'm sure we can find a VA to do it, and likely there is voice editing software to make a robotic wolf/dog voice) Then after being given intelligence, quests could be added to "upgrade" Rex more, from crafting upgrades on workbenches from rare vanilla game items, to stumbling on new looks like I mentioned earlier (Steampunk Rex, Legion Rex, Alien Tech Rex, Rex 117 jk, etc.) Obviously that's what I'd like to see, but I'd suffice with a simple retexture of Rex from Brain-Bot cancer dog to actual cyberdog like K-9. The rest is just ideas on how to make him really interesting, like what someone did when the made ED-E start saying funny movie quotes.

Well I can retexture him, but I can't do any modeling (just starting out) and I think that's what your really looking for. But if it is a retexture you want here are some I'v done;wolf retex http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39965brahmin retex http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40027brushgun retex http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40155am rifle retex http://newvegasnexus.com/imageshare/image.php?id=10181 I'd be happy to help out (time permitting)
simplywayne90
Hmm Well I'm not sure what I'll ask you to make at the moment, I'll try and think of one soon
nivea
Hmm... I am interested in a better more love Rex (quests and general talking) perhaps I will try to work somthing up, the head will be the hardest part. But really I would only do any work if I know it will be used for more then just a stop/follow companion.

If we actually create a decent looking cyberdog, I will hassle the community until I'm satisfied its an acceptable companion.Hell I'm still trying to work on S.E.R even though my team disappeared back in December. So it wouldn't be a souless doll companion that follows and is boring.

simplywayne90
This is why I hate democracy. It kills cyborgs. Well we could always include a better cyborg Rex, but in Fallout he should've been a robotic dog body, with a dogs brain (Not Visable) inside him. nivea
Alright well I will give a go at giveing Rex a more mech body, and make him more tough looking as well. It will take a while but I will mess with it. :
simplywayne90
Thats great, which design are you going to use as a guideline? The k-9 sketch I posted or the orginal "sprite" of K-9 from Fallout 2? I tried my best to keep the colors and things right, since he's enclave designed i stuck with gunmetal and steel colors, and bright white teeth.
