jakey252
I'm not entirely sure what's going on here. Anybody know?
Smooth613
I've actually seen this before but I cannot find the thread discussing it right now. I'll bookmark it when I finally find it again. The thread was at the BethSoft Forums and the solution is something to due with the height map of the cell, or cells. There is a value in the ini you can change to potentially solve the issue. It's something to do with the LOD mesh overlapping the full detail that you're supposed to see. As for why it happens, I'm not totally sure on that. Edit: Here's one thread with some small talk about the issue. Not much help but figured I'd link anyway. Edit 2: Found it! Here ya go, this should do. Oblivion.ini Edit. Eiries
LODDDDD..... I know this'll happen from square one if you have TLB (Toggle Lite Brite) going. Which you might... I know the game will have TLB on by default if your hardware settings are low... anyway, try bringing up the console and inputting tlb. If it gets brighter, then forget it. If it gets darker, then your LOD issue may just disappear. Modifying that .ini setting will help the foreground, but it'll probably screw up the actual LOD where it's needed, so it's kinda just a temporary patch. This sometimes happens in my game; I typically just exit the game. Restarting it tends to fix it most of the time.
Smooth613
This may be a shader problem Official Oblivion Shaders: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20348Sorry that's not the case here. If you take a look at the two threads I linked you'll get more information. The meshes are overlapping each other is what's going on. If you have Shivering Isles installed you can go to Niben Bay and see this for yourself. Anyone can. It's a bug that Bethesda never fixed. They made the bay too deep. As for why it happens in random other spots like in the OPs example I'm unsure.
