DarthSkorne
I am new to the modding scene. I have come across many altered armors and helmets. I would like to create a helmet of my own or alter the appearance of an existing one. I would like to create a wingless Duty type helm. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to accomplish this and what tools to use. Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated. WastelandAssassin
well, as far as i know, DA uses the same modding programs as Oblivion and the two Fallout games (3 & NV), so you will probably need the same tools, aside from the DA construction set, which you will have to use now, if all you want to change about the helmet is to remove the wings, then the only other program that you will need is NifSkopejust look for tutorials on how to edit existing models using NifSkope,it is supposed to be rather easy and then you will have to create the item in the construction set hope this helps :)
RustyBlade
If you want to go wingless it has already been done: Helmets without wings and retints by Schwinni. If you still want to do it yourself you will need the Dragon Age Toolset and at the very least Blender. Good luck
DarthSkorne
OK, I created the helm using DA Toolset. Where do I go from there? Do I use nifskope or Blender?
DarthSkorne
I have both Nifskope and Blender installed. Which files to I look for to edit? BTW.....You guys have been a great help. I am really new at this!!!
DarthSkorne
I seem to have trouble understanding how Blender and Nifscope work (Actually I'm having trouble understanding how to get everything set up to work). That being the case, I've installed the DA:O Model and Animation Import Export plugin for 3ds Max. To me, this was a lot simpler and easier to set up. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions about how 3ds Max works with altering Dragon age mesh files?
