I can remember a while back, some modder had this great idea of adding new passageways and rooms, etc. onto existing vanilla dungeons. He had started with dungeon closest to Riverwood, and seemed to have a good start...but I never heard from him again. The dungeon add-ons would only have one connection to the vanilla dungeon, for ease's sake, and the creatures inside new addition would not stray out, nor vanilla would enter in. Think how great that would be...dungeons with an extra 2/3 to a whole new dungeon's worth of creepiness, action, and excitement added onto the vanilla! Please, take up the call, modders of Skyrim!
