No nukes?

Nellis is a veritable goldmine for Mini Nukes, you can find a total of five in various locations and the Hidden Valley bunkers can yield three nukes in total (they're fairly cleverly hidden). All of these you can obtain without much effort.

 

 

 

Nellis Air Force Base, Mess Hall & Munitions Storage: 1 in a wooden crate, atop of a shelf in the Boomer's munition store.

Nellis Array: 2 on the metal shelves in the lower level to the right of the generators.

Nellis Air Force Base: 3 can be pick pocketed from one of the Boomers.

Hidden Valley South Bunker: 1 inside the southernmost bunker behind the Hard Lock door in the right corner underneath a tin plate.

Hidden Valley North Bunker: 2 inside the northernmost bunker behind an Average locked door in the right corner on the ground.

I've had a much easier time finding Mini Nukes than the Fatman. I only know of one location now where one can be found.

 

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that they are definitely not as common as they were in Fallout 3.

 

I'm rather glad of that, FO3 handed them out like candy compared to New Vegas. Something that powerful should be a rare weapon, not commonplace.

 

The fun thing about Fallout 3 was messing around with them after you had completed the game. I never used them during my playthrough but I would save every one I found and buy them whenever I could. I would have several dozen by the time I completed a playthrough. Then I would go have fun with them somewhere. The only option you really have with NV is to use the console to get what you want.

If you want to cheat just type in the console: player.additem 00020799 X.

 

Replace X with the number of mini-nukes you want.

you can steal one from the boomers. I have all five fatman launchers and only 5 mini nukes. there are only about 5-10 of them in the game.
