Slower Level Rate

Just want to find out how this would exactly work if after using this mod for most of the game, I'd remove it. I would naturally be at the lower level that I should have in vanilla NV. So after mod removal, would I get instant few level ups after loading a savegame? Do you see any potential risks with breaking the XP if the DLC with increased level cap comes out?

Depends on how you do it.

Changing the XP required for each level - is not advised. For exactly the reason that you're raising.

Changing the rate at which you gain XP (there are already perks that do this) is the smart way to adjust XP rates, because you can change your rate gain at any point in time without it affecting what level you are at or how many points you need in order to gain the next level. You could change the XP rate from 50% to 150% dozens of time in a session with no ill effects.

I'm actually talking about Slower Level Rate mod, which exists and got 19 endorsements. I too think changing the rate of incoming XP (for quests, killing etc) would be better than just manipulating with the XP required to reach the level

Are you aware of any mod working as suggested by you?
