Caster Gun

Any1 willing to attempt to make the Gene's Caster gun from Outlaw Star

was thinking it could use the unique gauss rifle's stats but increased amount of ammo used per shot since its a hand gun using high damage stats

i'd do this myself but i have zero modding ability

 

After thinking for a bit i thought it might be a better idea to use Caster shells as its ammo source instead of microfusion cells like the gauss rifle and have the damage based off the shell type

(dont know if possible) this is what the caster gun used in the show and there are 20 different types of shells. however i only remember 3 of them and what they look like.

#3 large red beam about the diameter of a mans torso did moderate damage.

#4 a slow moving black ball that sucked in target(like a black hole) once it was close enough, drained users life(dont know if life drain on fire for ammo possible in game).

#13 high damage yellow electrical like beam not very big diameter probaly similar to a lazer's diameter(also drained user's life)(Fatman Damage).

was thinking you could craft these at a workbennch using energy weapon ammo have general idea for each one #3 5 MFC , #4 15 MFC and 10 SEC(Makes2), #13 30 MFC and 15 SEC(makes1) i dont know if what i'm asking can be done so if not i'd very much appericate it if you could make it with the YCS/186's stats(repairable with plasma pistols) and possibly a small quest to obtain it starting it off by finding a dead BoS with a holotape about finding a prototype weapon

man...I was just thinking "You know what would be awesome...Frikkin Outlaw Star Gun!"

 

this is so doable too...especially with New Vegas' built in ammo switching...could add different effects to each type of ammo...

 

...this is a perfect "Wild Wasteland" item too...you could find it and a couple of rounds in a suitcase labeled "Starwind" in one of the Casino's baggage claims, and find recipes for all of the ammo types all over the wasteland...

 

I'll try and test out what all effects I can do, but I'm no artist, so it would just be a gun with a bunch of bullets that did different stuff when they hit people...but a graphics guy is totally needed for this....I'll post again when I've got something that kinda works...but first I gotta find a list of what all each numbered round does...I think they covered that in the comics...

 

...You know what else would be awesome...yet stupidly overpowered? Kaze's Summon Gun from Final Fantasy: Unlimited...

Son of a Bleeblop! ...ok...I had managed to get a test gun and four shells in game, but when I went back to tweak it, GECK crashed and screwed the file up. The only one I could remember from the series was the #4 shell...with its black-hole insta-kill...I simulated that by running a disable script on the target...meaning this shot will kill anything...only you get no loot or xp.

Anyone that can come up with a list of the 20 unique effects (or even just make them up), pass on to me. So far I've got a #1 that knocks targets unconcious, a #2 that can bypass up to 80 DT, a #3 that sets the target on fire, and the previously mentioned #4...I'll try rebuilding the mod tonight, this time making backups every time I test.

 

Still...I'm not an art guy at all...so these will just be script effects, no custom gun, bullets, or animations...I'll put up what I get and let someone else make it look pretty.
