NV M14 rifle port

Morning all.

 

I've recently decided that what New Vegas needs in order to sit well with the retro-50's Cold War stylings is an M14 rifle. Currently, I've got trent1524's M14 mod ported into my (personal) copy of NV, and have asked his permission to upload it on the New Vegas nexus once I've ironed out some of the problems with it.

 

So far, I've got the basic rifle set up, sharing sounds with the hunting rifle, and sitting somewhere between This Machine, the Hunting Rifle and the Service Rifle in terms of power- semi-automatic, similar accuracy to the service rifle in standard form, .308 caliber, hunting rifle damage/critical and a moderate rate of fire (around 120DPS). It's added into the inventories of most traders at tier 2, along with the following mods:

 

> Scope- Adds a mid-long range designated marksman's scope

> Match-grade barrel- Adds a match-grade blue chrome barrel (decreases spread)

> Synthetic furniture- Adds polymer furniture (decreases weight)

 

Currently, I have a few problems with it

 

1) The ironsights don't work

2) I've accidently set it up so it requires the Modable Unique Weapons to work.

3) I would also like to add it to NPC lists, perhaps to replace the trail carbine for some factions (NCR, for example)- but the GECK doesn't seem to let me edit the player lists

 

Can anyone be of assistance to fix these issues? I will post the files when I'm back home.

Edited to add- I can use NifScope (badly) and not only do I have no modeling experience, but Blender doesn't even work properly on my system. No idea why. I'm starting to get a little more used to the GECK but it's mainly issues of trying to get sights to work/line up ect. I tried porting someones Mk 14 Mod 0 mod over and the ironsights on that sat about 3" below the crosshair, and I'm rather concerned that the same will be true of the M14 when I finish it.
