Porting?

Hi I was wondering if it is possible to port Fallout 3 mods over to New Vegas? If so, how do I do it? There are a bunch of Fallout 3 mods that I would love to try out. I have the Xbox 360 version of Fallout 3 so I obviously can't use Fallout 3 to try out the mods.

Please note that if this is possible that this will be for my own personal use and I will not be uploading other users work to the site. I have seen the policy on this and understand it.

The biggest problem (as I've been finding out) with porting FO3 weapons in particular is iron sights. With New Vegas' iron sights function many of the weapons that have been made for Fallout 3 don't have working sights, and even those converted for the RH Iron Sights mod don't necessary line up properly in New Vegas. Unless you know your way around NifScope/Blender (which I don't) or can enlist the help of someone else (with permission from the mod's original owner, of course) you can't really do much about that.

there is this

but as has been said before, probably best to stick to simple things like armor (making sure to adjust values for fnv ie the dt), and even then it's trial and error until you get something the geck is willing to open. Weapons are tricky, because of ironsights, so I haven't bothered with weapons. Also you might double check to see if the mod you're eyeing hasn't already been brought over, you may be pleasently surprised.
