marimbatimba Posted March 10, 2015 Share Posted March 10, 2015 I think the title basically sums it up; a mod where if you take too much psycho you'll pass out/faint and wake up sometime later with a bunch of dismembered bodies around you. It'd be cool if it could recognize your current location and spawn appropriate bodies: if you're out in the middle of nowhere then there'll be Gecko and Deathclaw bodies strewn around into pieces. If you're in the Strip inside the NCR embassy then a bunch of dead NCR soldiers at your feet. This would be a really useful "last-resort" option if you find yourself really low on health/ammo with no stimpacks or health items except Psycho, you're surrounded by a bunch of enemies... you overdose on the Psycho and it's basically a guaranteed way to kill everyone around you (but it should have enormous SPECIAL penalties if you do). claustromaniac Posted March 10, 2015 Share Posted March 10, 2015 Interesting idea as a way to add flavour to the game, but I find it lacking in the gameplay department.I guess I would take away the guaranteed from guaranteed way to kill everyone around you. For me it would be more interesting if the overdose was a gamble. Maybe implement it as a luck-based check where, depending on what number comes up, a different effect triggers. You can either kill everyone around or simply die, or maybe both, and there could even be other potential outcomes. This wouldn't only make the drug feel more dangerous, but it would also allow you to implement the beneficial side of it without relying on huge penalties on unrelated stats just to keep the gameplay balanced.Also, now that I think about it, this concept of gambling could also be applied to other drugs as well. I agree! sometimes you kill everyone in site and lose reputationsometimes you kill everyone as if you were sneaked and dontsometimes you wake up in jail and need to pay bailsometimes you die...etc etc etc. that'd be fun. because I can honestly say I've never found much use for psycho in the game. risks just don't weigh out the payoff. That's an even better idea. Make it Strength/Endurance/Luck based to affect how many enemies you kill or if you kill yourself or how much psycho you need to overdose. Now that you mention it, making it a guaranteed kill is kind of overpowered; I like it better your way, but I think there should still be penalties after the overdose.
