LE Gathering Lackeys Mod

Hello! I had an idea for a mod that I think will really improve the repetitiveness of some of the gameplay. This mod will allow the player to hire some NPCs to go and gather various crafting materials for the dragonborn. The idea is that players while low level, will still adventure to acquire these items. However, as the game progresses, the need to travel all over the world buying soul gems and ore diminishes. It will function according to these rules (loosely):

 

• NPC_Ore_Gatherer
• Home: "The Bannered Mare (Whiterun Inn)" / "Jorrvaskr (Companion's Guild)"
• Function: For a price, this NPC will go and collect basic types of ore for you (Iron, Corundum, and dwemer scrap metal). If the player has completed the quest line to become the leader of the companions guild, the guild hires this NPC to fetch basic ore for the dragonborn on command, and opens up the ability to collect Rare/Uncommon ores. Rare ore carries a premium price (to be determined). All ore collection takes reasonable time.

 

• NPC_SoulGem_Gatherer
• Home: "The Frozen Hearth (Winterhold Inn)" / "College of Winterhold (Mages Guild)"
• Function: For a price, this NPC will go and collect basic types of soul gems for you (petty and lesser). If the player has completed the quest line to become the leader of the mages guild, the guild hires this NPC to fetch basic soul gems for the dragonborn on command, and opens up the ability to collect Rare/Uncommon soul gems. Rare soul gems carry a premium price (to be determined). All collection takes reasonable time.

 

1. Are there any restrictions that would make this mod ridiculously hard/impossible to implement?
2. Does anyone know of a similar mod that already exists?
3. Would anyone like to collaborate on the creation of this mod? (I've never mad a mod, so I could use the help).
4. If you'd rather just make it and use the idea as your own, you are welcome to it! Just post here so I can take advantage!
