Spacecowboy276 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I was trying to see if this question was asked before but so far I cant seem to find if is has or has not so I will ask myself I would like to work with the models in Maya but as of yet can not seem to figure out how (as I said if even possible) so I guess the question is how can I get the models and textures from New Vegas into Maya to work with and to that extent edit copy's (don't want to ruin the originals) of the textures All I can find is how to get custom made models and such into the game, but I want to edit pre existing content Thanks for any help you may offer and if this is not the right forum for this question I am sorry if this is not the right place to ask this Thanks again
Millenia Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Use nifskope to export the .nif to obj, import .obj to Maya With textures, get a DDS plugin for Photoshop
dieangel68 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Not sure of the second part of the question but, for making an alternate texture set you don't need to edit the model file, you just make your alternate textures and create a new texture set in the geck to assign to a new armor object that uses the same model. For editing models in maya, unless maya has a proper nif import/export plugin you will lose the rigging/skinning (in the case of armors and clothes)
