Hi all,

Greeting to you all, I'm eric. One of the fanatic players of XCOM and Long War Mod.

I recently run into a bug, which I cannot research "Improved Combat Exoskeletons" even after fulfilling requirement

1. Mobile Power Armor

2. MEC Warfare Systems (Foundry)

From the forum thread, i know there is a workaround:

- Improved Combat Exoskeletons will now appear in research UI when requirements are met. Workaround: Dev Console command GiveTech Placeholder_13 may give you the tech

However, no matter how i tried, the research still wont appear.

I have tried entered the following codes in developer console

GiveTech Placeholder13

GiveTech Placeholder_13

GiveTech Placeholder13 1 1
GiveTech Placeholder_13 0 1
I've tried all possible combination, and even tried following code

GiveTech Placeholder73

GiveTech Placeholder_73
GiveTech Placeholder73 1 1
GiveTech Placeholder_73 0 1
Note: 73 comes from
TechBalance=(eTech=eTech_Placeholder, iTime=30, iAlloys=30, iElerium=30, iNumFragments=50, iNumItems=25) ; Alien Bioybernetics: 3c.60
TechBalance=(eTech=73, iTime=50, iAlloys=30, iElerium=100,iNumFragments=50, iNumItems=20) ; Improved Combat Exoskeletons
I have also tried searching google and nexus forum but I could not find any info.
Could any help teaching how to do the workaround? or point out which part of my code entry went wrong?

If you see no other way, just use GiveAllTech and then exercise self control about when you get the items

 

 

I did it, because I had the same problem as you, and it works. But unless you're a controled person, the strategic enjoyment might go away very fast.
