AdamNeko
Hey, I know I might seem pretty dense for this one, and I'm not even sure where to put this, but does anyone know why Bethesda put the code for two false copies of Sunder into the Game, but not the actualy false weapons? I've seen 'em in TESCS, but have no idea why they exist in code.
Reborn87
ive wondered bout that myself, but alas i have no answer for ya. perhaps they were planning to give an npc a fake sunder try tricking you into using that fake one istead of the real one or summat but never ended up doing it. ;)
Marxist ßastard
Yes, it's one of the things that they had planned on implementing into the main quest, but didn't. If you dig around, there is also a journal entry for it. One of the Ash Vampires even has dialogue for it (or is that Keening?)... The most logical explanation is that it would take so much steering on the game's part (I've recovered Sunder from the citadel... Something's not right. I should test it out without Wraithguard, to see if it's real. -> [At the Dagoth Doors] I've reached Dagoth Ur, but I should test Sunder without Wraithguard on! -> [Message preventing you from opening door into the inner complex] TEST SUNDER TO SEE IF IT'S FAKE, IDIOT!) that the real Sunder wouldn't even be a suprise and the whole ordeal would just be an annoyance. AdamNeko
Would be a rather interesting addition to the game if someone were to script those false sunders and force the player to make sure that they're the right ones. Anyone else think so?
muadib
If you muck around in the Morrowind folder and find Dagoth Ur's Voice files, I believe there's one that goes sort of like this (and I'm paraphrasing here): "Ahh, Lord Nerevar, good to see you. But why have you come here unprepared? With a false copy of Sunder even!"
Marxist ßastard
\Data Files\Sound\Vo\Misc\Dagoth Ur Welcome D.mp3 Okay, that settles it. The false copy of Sunder wasn't implemented because the Dagoth Ur laugh was just too ridiculous.
AdamNeko
I really don't think that was the reason, though. Bethesda could have had any number of reasons. Because there is no scripting on Sunder, and because of the existing audio dialogue for it, I think Bethesda pulled the fake sunder copies out at the last moment.
