JetSteele Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Hi, I made a custom enchanting table however I'm missing the marker on the nif file to make the enchanting table animations play when clicked on. How do I add the marker to the table?
Staff BigBizkit Posted March 11, 2015 Staff Posted March 11, 2015 I too had trouble trying to get a custom workbench to use the enchanting animation. I tried quite a variety of things to no avail.
JetSteele Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 well, if I figure it out I'll let you know.
Tamira Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 You can to this with NIfskope. Open the enchantingworkbench.nif or the enchantingworkstation.nif, copy the BSFurnitureMarkerNode to your nif, make sure that you name it FRN and nothing else. Look at the value of the BSX in the enchantingworkstation and copy the value to the BSX of your own nif. Make sure that the position of your enchanting table has the same position (height etc.) like the vanilla one. What is important for the animation are the keywords in the CK. So simply edit the CraftingEnchantingWorkbenchTabletop or CraftingEnchantingWorkbench, give it a new ID and point the model source to your custom model. Easier is it to use the vanilla enchanting station, give it a new ID, make it invisible in game by checking "Is Marker"https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/htLc_stFM7tqtaejKjctkxCFLCnzsD7qR454jiW1kGM?feat=directlinkand add your custom model on top. Just make sure that some of the collision of the vanilla table is uncovered by your own mesh (or remove the collision of your custom mesh) so you can activate your new workstation. This is how it looks in the CK with Markers on:https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/pyJ3NGVW1VkbVAOfU1B5yBCFLCnzsD7qR454jiW1kGM?feat=directlinkand this with markers toggled off:https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/KKlXb_8tp_3IUSdrY_-qqBCFLCnzsD7qR454jiW1kGM?feat=directlinkand this in the game:https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/kMqMlw1Z7NOgG4VlASyqhhCFLCnzsD7qR454jiW1kGM?feat=directlink And if you don't need the animation, just a working station: Simply edit the vanilla Enchanting station, give it a new ID and point the model to a model of your choice. I will work, as long as the model has collision and you give your new workbench a name.https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/qbpRTrxBfypo_ulg6oFdehCFLCnzsD7qR454jiW1kGM?feat=directlinkhttps://picasaweb.google.com/Cahadil/Tutorials?authkey=Gv1sRgCK6Xi5fNxIPXuAE#6125372472472914962https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/HHoLYqvm3OYlhjAHgoh57hCFLCnzsD7qR454jiW1kGM?feat=directlink
ToppDog Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Ah, Tamira beat me to it. I was going to point you to an earlier post of hers that showed how to do it. Tamira's method works great!
JetSteele Posted March 12, 2015 Author Posted March 12, 2015 omg thanks! Finally finished the nif, time to check it in game and release the resource :)
Staff BigBizkit Posted March 12, 2015 Staff Posted March 12, 2015 Thanks, Tamira, your solution worked. I did not know the animation queue was somehow connected to the actual model. I have been trying to do the same thing but with an empty model instead which obviously did not work.
