JZBai
I've been working on a new armor mod, but I've ran into a strange mesh problem that I can't figure out for the life of me.My mesh was skinned in 3DSMax and it looked fine in there. However, when I export the nif and see the model in game there are these strange black shapes that seem to bleed out of the mesh when I zoom out. In the shadow of my character, it looks like there are vertices that are exploding out of the mesh and are following the camera around. In addition, my mesh's textures seem to be bleed through anything that would normally cover the mesh (cloaks, backpacks, sleeves, etc.) Everything else about the mesh however looks fine (weight sliders work as they should, textures look good, etc.). Any ideas on what may be causing this problem? Here are images of it:http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/Images/510339/?http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/Images/510340/?http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/Images/510341/? JZBai
Not sure if this will help anyone solve my problem, but here is a File Dropper link to what I have now:http://www.filedropper.com/jzbaigenericchainmailThe armor can be found in game under "Chainmail Armor" in the console and is currently female-only. johnskyrim
I too have had this problem with a custom mesh. I figure it's some sort of backfacing that is showing through. Didn't know how to eliminate it so I just quit working on that specific thing :\
ThreeTen
Seems like the link to the file isn't working.

KrittaKitty
Have you tried opening the .nif in nifskope, right click > mesh > update tangent space? It sometimes seems to fix these black patches for me.

yurica
Hello, I have encountered this problem before too, one way I tried that fixed the problem was: - Firstly, export the mesh from your 3dsmax as .nif as usual.- Then re-import the .nif to your 3dsmax in a new scene with "Import Skeleton" ticked (otherwise you will lose the skin data).- Then export it again as .nif as usual. I have noticed it fixed the problem in game. I am not sure what caused the problem, but I read somewhere it was related to skinning. hope someone else could give us more information :P
