Runtime Error R6025 - pure virtual function call

i have started getting "Runtime Error R6025 - pure virtual function call" while playing Skyrim, i only get it when playing Skyrim and i get it as i am exiting the game.

i can play for over 24 hours and never get the error, it seems to be only appearing after i made a save and exiting the game.

i have searched the forums and it seems others have had simular problems, but they talk about the "Soul Cairn" quest causing the problem, well i never been to Soul Cairn yet.

anyone have any idea how to find the problem and fix it?

Nobody has any idea, Bethesda are clueless too, if you get their telephone support to try and help you it will conclude with something like the solution has something to do with a registry setting, thats the best they have - Which is utter rubbish when you read up on the microsoft advisory for the runtime error r6025 pure virtual function call problem, it has nothing to do with registry errors at all.

 

You having the error without going to the soul cairn is not unusual - Unfortunately in those case there is no fix for it found yet.

 

If you are one of those who are unlucky enough to only have the soul cairn issue there is a sort of a fix ( its more of a do a few things without fail each time you go through the game than an actual fix for the underlying problem ) which in my case works 100%

But all the ones I have researched that were not to do with the soul cairn have not found any kind of solution yet.

 

 

The only person who could possibly help unfortunately is too busy to have a poke at this, and even for his expertise it sounds like a very long procedure to determine what the actual problem is ..

It has been mentioned in many topics, and even the official beta topics when they were open for testing official updates to the game - But Bethesda have not even made any indication that they would ever try to solve the problem.

I guess they have not been able to reproduce the problem so cannot address something they cannot make happen sadly

If only they knew how infuriating the problem is when it does happen to you.

Possible suggestion - If its not the Soul Cairn problem, it could still be related to just having Dawnguard installed ..

 

Have you tried a new game without Dawnguard enabled ? ( and any mod dependancies of course )

i will try it, odd it seems to be only happening when i exit the game, might load up the original save too before all this started, i loose about 70 lvl's though and my 2 followers Carette and Katia (leader of the Vigelants before the hall is destroyed and the Ghost from the Ark.... wars questing)
