WhiskeyRiver2
OK, here's the issue. As part of the next CaliberX update (and any future compatibility patches), my new plan is "If the weapon can take a suppressor, it's getting the appropriate/closest "silent" projectile". The reason behind this is to remove the frankly ludicrous muzzle flash from supposedly "stealthy" or "suppressed/silenced" firearms like Ratslayer or Sleepytime - in reality, a decent can will all but eliminate that flash, in addition to cutting the decibel level by as much as 25-30%, even with supersonic loads. The problem is, a lot of CaliberX's individual rounds/calibers have their own projectiles assigned - e.g the .45 ACP Lead loads each have a matching projectile. Apparently this was done to prevent the issue of "blank" rounds - aka wasted ammo that for some reason does -zero- damage (an issue I've never been able to replicate, even when deliberately trying to do so), so I'm on the fence about altering any of that. Now, it's my understanding that the projectile entry attached to the weapon itself will override the entry for any ammunition type - and yet, when I try to fire (for example) Millenia's CZ 805 with CaliberX's "obsolete" 5.56 Match, the GRA Match handload, or the 5.56 M193 load from Heffy's pack, the usually minimal flash from the weapon's assigned "556mmRifleSilentProjectile" is overridden with the default (and by comparison, blinding) muzzle flash and smoke cloud. Am I doing something wrong, or is my assumption of how the system works flawed? Edited March 15, 2015 by WhiskeyRiver2
