Bulletproof Vest/Body Armor Mod

Hi guys,

I like running around New Vegas (or the Capital Wasteland) in the Wasteland Doctor Fatigues, but the DR kind of sucks. I've thought about just making a simple mod making the item's stats better and placing it in the game world, but it would kind of ruin things for me since no matter how you look at it the clothes are still just pants and a t-shirt.

What i'm looking for is a mod that adds a bulletproof vest that increases your DR. There's one really really great mod that almost nails what i'm looking for completely called NV Tactical Vests by DreadWolf (http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35905), but these all seem a but lore-unfriendly for my tastes. I'm looking for a best that looks like it belongs in a Fallout game and not in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Does anyone know of a mod like this or would anyone be interested in making one? There was the mod Kevlar Vest by Pyro Paul for Fallout 3 (http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3491) that took the armor portion of the Vault Security Armor and made a standalone vest that was nice, but it had some issues as far as weapons clipping and it fitting right over certain clothes.

At any rate, would LOVE to see someone take this on as a project and New Vegas bulletproof vest for wearing with clothes that looks like something a Mojave Wasteland Cowboy/Ranger/Waster/Gun Runner/Average Joe might wear.

Thanks,

Ramzie

Thanks for the suggestion Savage117, but invisible armor mods are what I'm trying to avoid.

In invisible item I've added with a mod that can't be seen feels like cheating in a way to me. If i'm going to be wearing something that is adding DR to my character, I want it to show up visually as well as have the effects of simply existing. For example, the body armor should count as light or medium armor (depending on the DT it provides) and effect run speed like normal light/medium armors do. Additionally, the item needs to have a certain weight. 4-8 lbs. seems fair for a piece of body armor. Possibly 10-15 lbs. if it's a heavier version.

Again, I love the tactical vests that I posted in the mod above because of the visual side and great thought put into the effects they provide, but I want something that visually matches Fallout New Vegas and the Fallout world at large more closely.

Ramzie@ Would Joshua grams SWAT vest from Honest Hearts be the sort of thing your looking for? I have no ability to do any kind of modding outside 3D models so all I can offer is advice, but I'm sure you could find someone to do it. Edited by ihazbadluck

Tailor Maid has a Security Vest I believe, although you may be the type who doesn't like to just pick something up from a crate in Goodsprings so I suggest Satchels. Adds in a Security Vest that you can make (Although im not sure if the DT given is a good amount, so you'll still be taking some damage.).
