Guest deleted2159825 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 All, I recently saw a mod that cited "Fair Usage" as a justification for using copyrighted music (since the mod is non-profit). I'd love to include some Ennio Morricone tracks in my next mod, but I don't want to get my ass sued off in the process - what's the ruling on this? Is it a "Do it at your own risk" sort of thing, or is it accepted? Thanks for any forthcoming help! -Someguy
KFK Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Generally speaking, if it costs a dollar on iTunes, uploading it here, for free, is almost certainly NOT fair use (at least in the US).

Thank you for the reply! That was my gut instinct, but I wanted to check.
Quetzlsacatanango Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Google around for public domain/CC licensed music, I'm sure you can find some western-sounding stuff that is free to use.
Guest deleted2159825 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I'm on it. Music would be a great supplement for the more climactic scenes that I have planned.
