ricardokenji1
Hey guys, I hope you can help me out with this one.I find it kind of weird that wearing a deadra armor you'll get the same damage from a fireball than being just bare naked (correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I understood from Bethesda files and google). So based on that, I was wondering if someone has ever made a mod where your magic resistence also considered the type of armor you (and other NPCs) are wearing.I couldn't find any mod of that kind on nexus/google. I know there are perks, potions, enchantments and itens that provide magic resistence. But NPCs don't use such things (as far as I know), so i seens quite unbalenced for me. If what I'm saying makes no sense, or it's not lore friendly please let me know! If you think this is a good idea, please pass it foward, so maybe It will get to someone with developing skills who also like it : ) Thanks! Deleted1308005User
Mm.. Realistic properties of metal types, yes, sounds doable. (Similar way how Dawnguard armor gets the special protection from vampires)I might actually check this one out. (Though, once again it sounds too simple in my head, so it's most likely not gonna be as easy as I think) Edit:Currently checking this one at CK, as said it does look like it'd be doable. Though most likely it wouldn't work with mod-added armors unless I'd manage to figure out keyword based system. Anyhow, I love the idea. Basically I'd love to see gear have some buffs and debuffs. Like, steel against lightning shouldn't be a good decision, right? Most of the fur-based clothing could be resistant to frost, some metal types could be useful against lightning etc.Options are ENDLESS!  However, I'm not going to reserve this idea. With my focusing abilities it could take some time, and I haven't been in modding mood now that I finally managed to fix my Skyrim. Edit:I'm an idiot. It's already keyword based system. This should be really simple. Okay, basically I figured out whole thing on how to do this, Sadly I can't find existing values so I could adjust, for example, shock damage resistances etc.If I manage to figure out how to do that I might actually build mod based on this idea. (Though, I need to start new thread for such, as I need some ideas.)Edit: Did I mention I'm an idiot? Been struggling with this for a while now because I couldn't find the values I have been looking for. (Going manually through drop-down lists).Augmented flames/shock/ice perks had the modifiers I've been looking for. Basically I should be able to individually change how much different spell types deal damage against certain armor types. I didn't get any e-mail notifications from the forum. I found this Mod, that has a similar approach, but it's far more complex then intended.http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/68849/? And, as armor attributes set by the author are usually elemental resistence, and have downsides, It can still happen that you take the same damage from a fireball when naked ou wearing a nordic carved or downgard heavy armor. Sometimes you get extra elemental damage with armor than naked! :D Anyway, thanks for your time and I'm glad you found this idea interesting.Let me know if you make any progress in such type of mod. Peace!
Fenryr3001
Certain Materials should have resistance of magic (Daedric farily high at everything,Ebony gives you some protection) but lower end materials like leather,Iron,Steel,Hide shouldn't give you anything. I like the naked X geared up approach. Why would you take same damage from a fireball/bolt or ice spike wearing an iron armor than naked? Even leather armor is more resilient than flesh. If it were "real life" i'd rather be wearing something tham nothing it i were to figth dragons and mages :D
