adman85
I'm trying to decrease the range of certain weapons manually, by opening them in the geck and changing the min\max values, but it seems to do nothing when I load (even with a min\max range of 2 i still pinged a guy 50 feet away). Is it because i'm not giving the game enough time to register the changes? (if so then its weird because if i change the damage it registers immediately) Also is there a way to change the damage a gun or energy weapon does depending on the range at which it hits its victim? Lastly the setting fAIRangedWeaponMult is normally set to 5.0, does this mean npcs have 5 times the range the player does? Any help is appreciated. TotallyNotToastyFresh
You need to change the projectile range. It's in special effects > Projectile, then you find the projectile of the weapon you're editing.
adman85
Thanks man, that did the trick! awesome.. BTW the sniper rifle had a range of 10000 and the shotgun 8000? Huh? So the range values in the weapon stats do what exactly? I dont want enemies firing guns out of range.. Also, any idea on what fAIRangedWeaponMult does? 12Vader34
How can this be done using FNVEdit? I can't find the special effects. And I can't use G.E.C.K. because it won't work for me and I haven't found a solution.
dubiousintent
AFAIK, you have to do this in GECK. So lets see about getting that working for you. Please see the 'GECK: Common Problems' section of the wiki "Getting started creating mods using GECK" article. If you are still having problems, we need more detail as to where you installed the GECK and what error messages it is displaying. -Dubious-

I deleted the eyebrowm file within the Data->meshes->Characters->Hair.It now works. I am using a mod weapon - Ruger on Nexus. So, it uses 5.56mm bullets so I went on special effects and then projectiles, found "556mmRifleBulletProjectile"I changed the range from 1000 to 5000, is this the right way to do it?
