Let me just say, I agree witht he above, teh Garath nix books are good but, they are...rather, poorly written, if you want a good story and care nothign about evrything else(everything else not meaning just grammer and writting mechanics, those are good) But in my opinion they are not the best quality. To be more specifec they're confusing. one minute there here at this time then they're here then...AH! confused!...get it? so MORAL=Good story, poor books...

But maybe it is just me, or maybve I've read too many good books.

Frank Herberts Dune, sans Brian Herberts crap that he is shelling out just to make money off of his father's name.

Anything by J.R.R Tolkien (of course...hence the name  )

Philip Pullman's Dark Material's Trilogy

Anything by Heinlein, Niven, and Asimov

Ann Rice's Vampire Chronicles

And as a complete nerd: Anything and everything by The Bard.

:D Couldn't agree more but they are not really books as such. I'm an absolute freak for Shakespeare. I've seen all the plays except King John. I'm directing Measure for Measure at the moment. And I have appeared in A Midsummer Night's Dream as Titania (don't look like that, the director switched the sexes of all the parts for some twisted reason of her own).

But most gamers don't have time for plays, do they?

Oh yeah some other really good books are "Holes" (one of my all time favorites) and all of the "Artemis Fowl" books and "Red Scarf Girl". The "Red Scarf Girl" is a memoir of the cultural revolution in China. You all should read it, it really shows how lucky we actually are to live in a country withought monarky or comunisium.
