Interior Lighting Problem

Hello, I am working on an Igloo mod. While I was building the house i run into a lighting problem, even though i do not place any lighting bulp and/or select any lighting templete for the cell, one half of the room is very bright while other side is very dark. It seem like it is related with the mesh, I tried flipping the normals (normally it works for glossy surfaces) but this time it just made the dark side bright and bright side dark :)

Pictures are as below, any advice will be highly appreciated.

Hi there try messing around with ambient lighting, directional ambient lighting settings in the Cell Tab where you choose your lighting setup. Untick the checkboxes to be able to edit the settings.

Hello,

I kept your advice and messed around ambient lighting and directional ambient lighting. During this process i was able to change the location of the bright and dark places but i couldn't adjust the brightness/darkness or completely eleminate it, is there any way to adjust or eleminate it?

Thank you.

On the Ambient Color section( above fog far and fog near) change the R G B values to 0. This will make the ambient color black which will darken the area completely except for where your lights are. From there onwards play with the R G B values to get the color you want. Also if you click on the 'select color' tab a box will open up various color pallettes for you to choose from. On the right hand side of the box is a slider which determines the luminosity of your color. The top of the slider is the brightest and the bottom is darkest. Edited by Jazrael

Hi,

I made the ambient color fully black but one half of the mesh is still very bright while the other part is dark. Below pictures has been taken while the ambient color is black and there is no light bulp in the cell. Before I messed around these settings the seperation line of the bright and dark sides were vertical but now it is horizontal.

Ok tested some settings in a test cell. Setting the Directional Color to black removed all ambient brightness. The shape of your igloo might also affect the ambience so play around the Rotation XY and Z. Other than that I'm not sure. Edited by Jazrael

What happens if you make the directional ambient color black as well and work from there?

I made all the directional ambient color options black and all the lighting options grey and voila!!! it seems like end of my problem, now i have to tweak the bulps, will share pictures soon. Thank you very much.

It still needs some tweak adjustment for the interior lighting but the main problem is gone... Thank you again...
