Oblivion (Steam version) crashes on start-up

I just re-installed oblivion on steam and it crashed on start up. To be more exact, it played the first 3 sounds that you get when you open the game twice.

 

Example:

Sound a - sound b - sound c, sound a - sound b - sound c

But it wasn't slow, it went by in like a second.

i had the same problem (i do not use the steam version though).if ure using obse try reinstalling it
