danielgamerxpro
I started playing DAA today it is not my 1st time I've played this. I managed to complete quests in Wending Woods, Blackmarsh , Knotwood Hills, Amaranthine and some others, I got back to Vigil's Keep my 1st time that play through. I picked up all my companions before returning to the Vigil's Keep my aim was to recruit them as wardens because my last game play I was unable to complete the joining so having all of them there in 1 go I thought would have made things easier but no after talking to Varel I had to start the battle The Assault on Amaranthine, I had not finished the Wades quest nor the deep mines under the Keep and some others. By then I realised I messed up and wanted to go back a couple of saves until I noticed there isn't any saved data the only one was way back near the beginning of the game which you can Imagen how pissed I was once I found out my game wasn't saving at all for some time. Is any one else having this problem? If you know a good walkthrough site for Awakening I hope it points me in the right direction which quest I should be doing 1st. Thandal
Sorry you ran into a problem. Not quite sure if you're saying that you only had the one save (near the beginning) or that you had other saves, but they were corrupted. If the former, you might check that you didn't accidently turn-off "Auto-Save" from the Options Menu. As to your other question, if you chose it, once you've completed "Law and Order" you will not be able to finish another Companion's personal quest, (so save "L&O" until near the end.) And there is a small, non-plot-essential reason you might want to do the Blackmarsh last. That reason would be to allow you to recruit all the possible additional Wardens. When you complete the last of the major prepatory quests, the end-game (Amarantine/Vigil and the Nest) launches immediately. Since "Kristoff" was already a Grey Warden, he doesn't need to complete the Joining. Otherwise the order doesn't matter.

My saves was corrupted I had been saving a lot and I know for sure auto-save was saving but I even although it was saving there was no save being made I hope you get what I mean. Thank for the info on the quest that part annoyed me the most I've been reading a bit about corrupted saves at http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/67/index/247529/1 but just seems like everyone saying the same thing as me no fixes to be found Edited November 27, 2010 by danielgamerxpro
Thandal
Haven't heard of this, (although I have had the game crash immediately upon "FORCE LOADING" a save if I had removed certain mods without following the authors' instructions for re-setting to "normal" before uninstalling their work.) Questions to help us help you: What platform on you on (PC, PS3, XBox)? If PC: What patch level are you on? What mods have you installed?

RustyBlade
Try deselecting Leliana's Song, The Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt as they sometimes cause problems - keep them installed but uncheck the box. You only need them selected when you are ready to use them. Additionally, you may want to ditch the Bag of Holding as it has been known to cause issues as well. I hope you know that if you auto-loot a storage chest it kills the chest.

Thanks for those who helped me out.
Thandal
Glad to hear you got it sorted (well, that it sorted itself! ) Instead of Auto-Loot, I prefer the solution used in "Dragon Age Rule Pack Fix". You get the same "floating text of contents" above the object or corpse, but without destroying things. Plus, the effect is selectable becasue it is only appliled only tothe PC. If you use another party member it doesn't kick-in.
