Heal ED-E with Scrap Metal/Electronics?

It's always personally irked me that I have to use stimpaks on a robot. Using them on Rex isn't as far-fetched, as he's semi-organic... but ED-E? With his incredibly-low DT and suicidal tendencies, I find myself using at least five on him on a regular basis! It'd be much easier and more logical, I think, if he were "healed" with Scrap Metal (or Scrap Electronics). And it would give more uses to Scrap Metal/Electronics.

Unfortunately, the GECK refuses to work properly on my computer, otherwise, I'd figure out a way to do this myself.

Hmm, what about glue also? Or, craft robot repair kits. Like weapon repair kits, but with more electronics!

I like the idea of crafting robot repair kits! Perhaps it'd require:

Wrench (1-2)

Scrap Electronics (2-4?)

Scrap Metal (1-3?)

Sensor Module (1-3?)

Fission Battery (1-2)

Wonderglue (x2)

And either a Science of 50+, or Repair 50+ (modder's decision) to craft (to be in line with Weapon Repair Kits).

...Haha, I just realized that's pretty much the exact requirements for repairing ED-E in the first place. And finding the actual kits in the wasteland would be nigh impossible, with maybe one in the tinkerer's home in Nipton, one with Old Lady Gibson (or two?), one in Raul's Shack (or in his cell in Black Mountain), BoS... fairly pricey, to account for the larger amounts of scrap electronics.

I really don't see why Bethesda/Obsidian didn't do this in the first place; my only thought is maybe they didn't want to weigh the PC with "junk", and just streamlined the healing options for all companions by requiring stimpaks.

(I still find it silly/irksome, however)

No. Keep it to one item. Making packs is far too inconvenient. We already use most of those items for the Weapon Repair Kit. I use Stimpaks fairly regularly on Companions in Hardcore mode. You want an item that's plentiful, can be bought from merchants easily and is relevant. Scrap Metal would work perfectly. To compliment the mod however, you should increase it's frequency with Merchants slightly also. I've searched through the GECK, and can't seem to find anything to help edit the Companion Wheel. Anyone else?
