Drakkaran
This idea is to bring some different kinds of gameplay mechanics in and create somewhat of an alternate economy to finding and selling of weapons/armour. I'd love to see a trader quest line developed that lets you build up a brahmin rancher empire. Food is vital to wasteland survival but it always has such a limited representation in game. NV does it a whole lot better than previous Fallout games but its still more an after thought to guns/armour and killing stuff. Goodsprings is perfect for more agriculture development with its clean water source. Jacobstown has a bighorner supply already and increases its herd from the wild bighorners on Silverpeak. The NCR sharecroppers have a heap of vegetables but practically no meat. No wonder their troopers are so weak with no iron in their diet. The Boomers also have reasonable amounts of crops but like the NCR have hardly any meat. They do however have a heap of empty space for development. The residents of Novac and Primm seem to live on a diet of rocks so would jump at the chance to trade some real food. They're also ideally placed for trade routes between the North and South regions. I envisage through a series of quest you could build up a brahmin and bighorner trade with ranches in various towns. You could then negotiate trade deals with the larger outposts and NCR camps to supply them with meat.In order to grow the empire, mini quests such as upgrading Goodsprings windmills and water pipe network could allow you to increase the size of your herd. Hire the Crimson Caravan to transport meat around the Mojave. Part of the herd can be food and part be transport to send out your own caravans so you can transport water and vegetables as well. All the while you make a cut off the top of operating costs to provide you a passive income which you can also use to further invest in your trade empire. I don't have the skills to make a mod like this with the GECK but I'd love to see someone/s make it happen. Does this tweak anyone else's interest? legionpower
This is a very good idea, and something I had in mind that you wrote out very well. Would love to see something like this.
