TJADER
Well, I recently installed Oblivion again, and I wanted to play all the great mods I found on this site. I have reinstalled it twice now, first time I got really strange bugs and glitches which I think was caused by mods overlapping with eachother - but this only happened when I installed the unofficial oblivion patches - for SI and the rest. I also got a strange shadow glitch on clothing and armour (the one I'm talking about), the game was fine untill I installed the UOP. So I deleted it and reinstalled. First thing I did was to install the UOP, the game worked fine together with Qarl texture pack and Real Lights mod. Then I installed RobertsMaleV5, and in game the custom clothing underpants had the exact same problem I had before I reinstalled - it looks like he soiled his pants! It only vanishes when I turn off the selfshadow in video options.I have no idea how to fix this, so if anyone would please help me I would be very gratefull! I'm uploading a pic of it. Hickory
Shadows on self in game is one of the very worst graphic 'enhancements' to have enabled. I strongly advise you to turn it off.
TJADER
Yes I decided to turn it off, and you're right - it looked like crap anyways so hopefully no harm done. :P Although now I have gotten another weird shadow glitch after installing some other mods - I got it after installing the "EnhancedWeather" and "EnhancedWeather" I think. This problem I have is "flickering grass" when shadows are cast on the grass, and it only dissapears when I unckeck "cast shadows on grass" - which I really don't want to have unchecked because gameplay would really deteriorate. I read around and someone had similair problems but on hair and it was caused by meshes conflicting. I am realy unsure on how to proceed. This is the load order I have and the mods I have: -----------------------Oblivion.esm Better Cities Resources.esm EnhancedWeather.esm hackdirtabyss.espUnofficial Oblivion Patch.espUnofficial Shivering Isles Patch.espHorseArmor.espOrrery.espFrostcrag.espThievesDen.espShiveringIsles.espVileLair.espSpellTomes.espMehrunesRazor.espKnights.espUOP Vampire Aging & Face Fix.espOblivion Citadel Door Fix.espScribe Supplies.espClocksOfCyrodiil_BC_OBC_OC_OCLR_Vanilla.espClocksOfCyrodiil.espBetter Cities Full.espBetter Imperial City.espBetter Cities Full FPS Patch.espBetter Imperial City FPS Patch.espBetter Cities - VWD of the IC.espBetter Cities .espEnhanced Water v2.0 HD - SI Addon.espEnhanced Water v2.0 HD.espStorms & Sound.espStorms & Sound - Better Cities.espNatural_Habitat_by_Max_Tael.espNatural_Vegetation_by_Max_Tael.espEnhancedWeather.espEnhancedWeather - Darker Nights, 50.espEnhanced Weather - Across-The-Borders Mods Patch.espReal_Lights.esp If someone could please help me with the flickering grass I would be very gratefull. :) Edited November 28, 2010 by TJADER
Hickory
Enhanced Weather is outdated. You should use Weather - All Natural, which incorporates an updated version, plus more. Your load order is also wrong. You should be using BOSS and Wrye Bash to create a Bashed Patch. Use HDR in your graphics settings, not Bloom. If you want AA, set it in your graphics card control panel. Once you have ran BOSS and created a Bashed Patch, run TES4LODGen (important to run TES4LODGen last). Thanks a lot for letting me know what I needed to fix this Hickory. I got myself all the tools to install Wrye Bash before (Wrye_Bash_275_-_Self_Installer and Wrye_Python_03a), I tried to install Wrye Bash some time ago but the installer readme lead to to an advertisement site, a site called http://err.000webhost.com/, and because of that I gave up on Bash because I couldn't find out how to install it for the first time. Your link also leads to the same advertisement site, for me atl east. :/ And everywhere I look everyone refers to the read me which is this exact link. So if someone please have the time to let me know how to proceed I would very much appriciate it. Edited November 28, 2010 by TJADER
Hickory
Oh, the Wrye Bash home link seems to have died. Try the Nexus link instead. When you install Wrye Bash it places a complete guide (Wrye Bash.html) in your \Oblivion\Mopy\ folder.
TJADER
Thanks a lot! I finally got Wrye Bash installed, never thought that would happen. Ok I think I have understood everything so far, but how should I create a Bashed patch? And with which components should I create it?
Hickory
First, you need to open Windows Explorer to your \Oblivion\Mopy\Extras\ folder and copy the file called:Bashed Patch, 0.espPaste that file into your \Oblivion\Data\ folder.Run Wrye Bash and in the bottom right window called 'Bash Tags', right click and select 'Automatic'. Now run BOSS (so that the Bashed Patch is in the correct order), then right click on Bashed Patch, 0.esp and select 'Rebuild Patch'. In the window that pops up you need to check off any of your installed mods. The main sections to check are: Merge PatchesImport xxxxxxxx (anything that includes Import)Contents CheckerLeveled ListsRace Records Cobl Catalogs (ONLY if you use Cobl)SEWorld Tests (ONLY if you have Shivering Isles installed)Remember, in the red options, if anything is checked off in the right window, the corresponding section of the left window must be checked off, too. The orange options should always be checked. Blue options only if you use them. The Globals and Tweaks are entirely optional.

Thanks a lot for the help Hickory, I got All Natural installed and running now (I think I do atleast) and almost all mods seems to be working. I got some missing meshes here and there though. In Skingrad I noticed that the lanterns outside in the streets were missing (the ones that light up during night, now it was just a flame high up in the air) and in Rosethorn Halll There were pretty many missing meshes. Maybe it was something I did when I built the patch that I missed, but I checked everything you told me to. The grass problem I initially had still exists though, but it is only showing on the default type of grass, not the grass with flowers on it. I'll attatch a screenshot of the disco grass - but the flickering is impossible to show without a gif though, but this is the only grass I have problem with. I have the enhanced grass mod aswell, but it didn't conflict before. It only started when I installed Enhanced Weather before (now replaced). I hope you or someone else could help me with this. Thank you very much. I am not sure I installed All Natural correct though, since Oblivion looks kinda dull still.
