fallout 3 .44 magnum firing animation

If you own a copy of Fallout 3 you can borrow the animation yourself from the Fallout - Meshes.bsa file in your Data folder using a BSA extractor such as the one included in FOMM. After you extract it you just need to place it in the respective folder in your NV Data folder and rename it (if necessary).

i tried doing that, but for some reason half the time i fire the revolver it still uses the NV animation, and the other half it uses the F3 one. like theres a coin flip everytime i pull the trigger that decides which animation to use. it keeps alternating between them and i dont know how to fix it

Yeah that is weird, the loose file should always take precedence (as far as I'm aware of). Well you can make a bsa with just the animation and an esp that point toward it, then the chain should go like this; loose file-> user made mod and BSA-> Fallout - Meshes.bsa. But it's a long shot, and if you havn't made a bsa before it might not be worth the time since it's a gamble.

nevermind, i fixed it. it turns out i only needed to replace one of the attack animation files, not all of them. if i replace all the files it alternates between the 2 animations, but if i only replace 1 file it only uses 1 animation
