SickleYield
Ok this is the last time im evan going to bother posting this ok i need to know how to uv map and the wiki dont tell you how to in a detailed manner so please PLEASE!!!! help me Please Yes, it does. It's a link in the "Creature Meshes 101" tutorial. Here: http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/dojo/17...uv-texture.html But the easiest thing is not to make a new UV map at all. I prefer to start from a Bethesda mesh and push and pull and subdivide to get the shape I want. This leaves you with the nice symmetrical Bethesda UV map. With subdivision you can add new vertices and faces without changing the UV map at all(subdivide is a button in the edit buttons screen in Blender). Then you save the UV map. It's easier if you have Blender 2.42a, which you can get from their web site for free. Then I copy and paste the saved UV map grid into a new layer of a new texture. I bring it up so that I can draw on the texture layer while looking at the nice grid from the UV map. I use GIMP. Some people use Photoshop or other programs. Making a new texture from scratch this way is very time-consuming, so be prepared to commit some time. At least, it is for me - I think I've spent almost as much time trying to make new textures as I have modeling.
