Alenee, Linden, Eruanion, and jouko

June 5, 1048 0814

As Linden comes around, there is a sound that begins emanating from the now opened room. Low at first, it slowly begins to grow, almost hypnotically drawing you toward it. Jouko is the first to walk through the door, not saying a word. As the sound continues to intensify, you can begin making out words repeating over and over again.

"Athal Nathrak

Uthvas Bethud

Doschmal Tiennvay"

You are able to fight the compulsion, at least for now, but, from the far end of the hall, there is a grinding followed by a sickening thud.

Melisande looks at the others in the group, then stammers out "Ummm, right over here." She directs him to the section that she had matched up earlier. "It's these notes here. We assumed that you had written them because they have the look of some that only the head builder would write." She looks at the others in the group again, giving a look that scream okay, what do we do now?

At the sound of the "thud" Linden whips her head around and stares down the hall. "Great Poeved above.....was that the overhead door?"

Not wanting to move to check (and leaving her back open to an unknown enemy), she looks back to the open door and begins praying in earnest to Poeved for protection and guidance for herself and the party.

Erunánion looks directly at Linden, and speaks. "I would not want you to leave this mission, unless you feel it utterly necessary. We need you to see this through to the end. But unfortunately it seems this must wait. I want to see whats down this passage. Can you cover me with your bow?"

He hefts his sword, and strides over to the doorway. He smiles brightly. "Don't worry - i trust you."

He looks down the corridor, and takes a deep breath.

OOC: I read the docs you sent me, Emry. Many thanks :D

"We're going to have to settle for Alenee covering us with the bow, since I'm holding the only torch.... sorry." She looks through the doorway trying to see anything recognizable (i.e. Jouko) and what else is in the room.

OOC - I'm assuming that I'm closest to the door since I broke the seal :whistling: . Can I see anything into the next room/corridor/opening since Jouko was holding the other torch and has since succumbed to the compulsion and walked in?

"Very good. I'll take the right side, you take the left? Deal?" He walks to that side of the doorway, but stops mid-stride. "Don't you find it a little odd that Jouko just took himself off in there, all by himself." He rotates his body to look straight at the doorway, and unconciously swifts his sword into a defensive position over his chest. "And really, he's been more than a little bit anxious to get in here hasn't he?" He paused (over-dramatically). "Jouko?" he says louder than necessary into the dark. "Jouko, are you still in there?"

Alenee, Linden, Eruanion, & ?

As Linden and Eruanion turn back around to look at the open doorway, the first thing they notice is that there is no light coming from within the room. The torch that Jouko had is not illuminating the area at all. At the edge of Linden's torchlight she can barely make out a reflection from something the floor - just a speck, but a reflection nonetheless. Eruanion's calls echo from the room, unanswered. As the echoes die away, there is nothing but silence.

Bengt looks at the notes, his lips pursing and his brow furrowing as he does so. "These here? They were indeed written by me. But I don't see how in the world you thought the writing on this note looks anything like this. Show me what made you think it was the same writing." He says the last part gruffly, though a slight smirk appears on his face afterward - reminding you somewhat of the cat that ate the canary.

"I don't like this; i don't like this at all." Erunánion breathes, almost at a whisper. He turns his shoulder into a good defensive/offensive stance, readying his sword arm. "Ladies, i suggest you prepare yourselves; either we go in, or Jouko comes out."

He notices the reflection on the floor for the first time, and, speaks again. "Does that seem familiar to either of you? Perhaps its that stuff you found after your encounter with the aggressive garden tools?" He tries to relieve the tension in the room, poorly.

Gathering himself, he takes a step forward towards the doorway, completely alert for any noise or sign of movement.
