Arcangel - The Beginning

"Please everyone, calm down!" Tiemmo is getting upset by the tensions that seem so unnecessary. "Mister Bengt, sir, you told us you were as keen as we are to find these criminals. If that is true can you not help us more directly than ordering your guards to behave like bullies. And if you didn't mean it, why did you say it in the first place?"

He delivers the speech while moving into a position at some distance from the guards.

Melisande backs away from the point of the blade, exaggerating a motion of rubbing her throat with her right hand and checking for blood. She looks in horror at the guard and then at Bengt. "Good Sir!" she cries. "As my comrade said, we are simply trying to get to the bottom of a crime here, one which you yourself said you wanted to see solved." As she backs away, she makes a subtle movement with her left hand, freeing the catch on her sheath, freeing her sword for quick use.

Helstar, Melisande, Tiemmo, and Krixox

June 5, 1048 0752

As Helstar brings the paper up, he notices what had bothered him before - a faint smell of lemon wafts past his nose. Bengt looks at you and laughs. "So," he says. "You found that in one of my books, did you? All you guards heard that, right? I would like to have all of these people detained as thieves." He begins to walk toward you, a huge smile on his face.

The guards solidify their positions, all baring their weapons and taking defensive stances. "Drop the weapons and youse'll have no problems wit' us." The one whose blade you were holding says. "And lassie, I can't wait til I gets ta ya - I'll have ta strip ya ta get all dem weapons."

His final words are cut short by a scream from near the door. At first, nothing seems wrong, then, slowly, the guard closest to the door falls forward on his face, a great axe firmly lodged vertically in his back, neck, and head.

Linden hears a thud and sees Alenee go down in a heap.

"Alenee!" Linden shouts. Foregoing the examination of the bookshelves, Linden rushes back to her fallen comrade (again staying to the sides of the room). When she gets there she drops the torch to help her friend get up. "Are you okay? I wouldn't want you to end up like Jouko there."

She glances over to Jouko to see if he is rousing yet.

"I'm also thinking that we should put the gemstones in there holders and see what happens. We place the two on the table and take the third in case there is a holder in another room. Sound good?"

Erunánion turns sharply at the sound behind him, but noticing that Linden is beside her, he turns back to scan the room for anything that could threaten them. He adjusts his grip on his sword into a readily usable stance, and starts to back slowly towards them both. "Alenee, are you okay?" While waiting for an answer, he addresses Linden, "Good idea, but lets wait until Alenee is back on her feet." Once he reaches the two of them, he will pick up the torch that Linden dropped, and maintain a firm guard at the doorway to the room.

OOC: You mind if i steal the torch?
