Kethruch
Alenee, Linden, and EruanionJune 5, 1048 0831 Linden examines the effigy that is laying on the cross structure. It is a figure of a man, lying on his back, dressed in what looks to be a fine robe, as the fur in the trim is delicately carved. On his head is a crown with the symbol of Toof, a dragon rampant, on the front. Its legs are together, and its arms are by its side up to the elbows, which are bent with the hands resting semi open and opposite each other, forming a kind of 'o' with the thumbs and index fingers. Emry
"Oh, ho! What do we have here? I think we may have found a spot for our extra gem. Eruanion, please place that gem back into that depression. " Taking the clear gem from the back bookshelf, Linden carefully places it in between the fingers of the effigy. She then jumps back into a defensive position with her mace at the ready.
Kethruch
Alenee, Linden, and EruanionJune 5, 1048, 0832 Linden places the gem and holds her breath. At first, she sighs as nothing happens, then she realizes that something is happening as the gems begin to glow, first softly, then brighter as the enchantments take effect. The red and green ones sink into the table and the entire surfaces begin to glow the colors of the gems. The clear one in the hands of the effigy glows bright white, and a mist begins to emanate from it, flowing down off of the structure like dozens of little rivulets flowing over a cliff. The mist begins to gather on the floor, slowly spreading, tendrils reaching out in a dozen different directions. As tendrils of the mist reach the other two tables, the crystalline structures in the clear spheres begin to change as well, seeming to melt before your eyes. Melisande
Melisande continues to move forward into the fog, weapon at teh ready, searching with her free hand to make sure that she doesn't run into anything.
Malchik
Seeing the others are safe, if not exactly one hundred percent, Tiemmo moves cautiously into the mist searching for Melisande's attacker. He keeps his sword at the ready.
Kethruch
Alenee, Linden, & EruanionJune 5, 1048 0834 As you continue to watch, the colored forms in the spheres completely melt and then bubble furiously, as if they were boiling. There is suddenly a loud crash - a sound like you've never heard before - and you discover that one of the spheres has shattered as the inside pressure caused it to explode like a balloon. The green substance that was inside oozes and flows over the top of the structure and, where it meets the fog, which is sending tendrils up the tables as if looking for something, the fog begins to turn green. In short order several of the others go off in the same manner, mixing their colors in the now table top deep fog. The colors ebb and flow, and from various places you think you can see flecks and flashes of colored light beneath the surface of the fog. Finally, there is a deafening roar that makes you wonder why the top of the chamber didn't collapse, followed by a bloodcurdling scream that sounds as though came from deep within a cavern somewhere near. The scream grows louder and louder until it seems to come from among you. It suddenly stops, the quiet after the deafening noise as unnerving as the noise itself. Suddenly, the top of the crypt where the effigy is lying explodes up, destroying the effigy in the process, showering everyone in the group with small stones. Immediately following, there is a whoosh of air that you find yourselves bracing against. Then, there is nothing. Helstar, Tiemmo, Krixox, and MelisandeJune 5, 1048 0756 The mist seems to envelop Tiemmo as it had Melisande, and once they are in it, their footsteps disappear as well. Even in the quiet aftermath of the battle, there cannot be heard a sound coming from anything that's in the fog. As the time wears on, there is no sign of Melisande or Tiemmo. Emry
Linden watches the rising fog with growing consternation and makes a decision. "Everybody, out of the room... NOW! I don't want to be picked off separately by unseen lurkers or hitting each other because we cannot see each other! This fog is rising way too fast and is too thick for my comfort. Let's back up into the corridor and wait for the fog to settle or thins before we see what's happened in there. Eruanion, I believe you are closest to Jouko; grab him and drag him out as well. I'll cover you. If you need help, yell. Alenee, cover both of us." She takes a look into the remains of the effigy to see what was inside the tomb before heading to the door. wesaynothin
"Crap." Helstar says, staring at the fog. "Shall we go in?" He looks at Krixox for a second, then moves into the mist.
Kethruch
Helstar and KrixoxJune 05, 1048, 0758 Krixox looks at you and says - "After you sir - it seems to me as though between the two of us, we should find some way to see through this whether it be less dense on the top or the bottom." There is a 'thump' as she hits her axe against the ground in another effort to dislodge the head attacthed to her axe. "Oh well," she sighs. "I guess that this bloke will be putting his best face forward, so to speak." She hefts the axe, trying to get its current balance point, and moves into the mist after Helstar. Once each of you enter the mist, you first find that you cannot hear or sense anything in the mist. After a step, it seems as though the mist has formed a second skin all around you. Your footsteps feel strange to you, as if you were walking amongst the clouds, supported only by the mist that now embraces you with white soft hands, as if it is meant as much for personal protection as it is for concealment. All of you feel as though you have walked much farther into the mist than the dimensions of the original room would allow, but none of you have encountered anything, let alone, each other.
