Kethruch
June 05, 1048 1055 The man looks up at Tiemmo's utterance. "Then there may be a chance that I can petition him to get back to work? I have another theory - that someone was wrong about the direction from the tomb of Arlaon. If they were wrong and this was interpreted as north instead of south - you know - they could have been trying to say that it was the tomb of Arlaon that was to the north, not the other way around...." His mood seems to have been uplifted at the news, and he turns to Linden. "I believe I know where one of the Old Ones is buried - a find that would revolutionize thought on our history. The original dig site obviously was just in the wrong place. Yes, that has to be it - I must see Reevelord immediately. Please, good sir, tell me where I can find him if you believe him to be alive." Malchik
Tiemmo glances at Helstar. "I'm not sure that he will be easy to contact just now. Perhaps if you start digging where you feel it would yield something of interest we can get his permission retrospectively." Aside to Helstar he mutters: "I don't believe we can have finished with this place. There are too many unanswered questions."
Kethruch
June 05, 1048 1056 Beadle looks at you in sheer horror. "Dig without official permission? Only if I have a death wish. If you don't have a permit, the guards assume you are graverobbing, and that is punishable by death. The guard have permission to dispense their own justice on this point, so people just don't. Perhaps if you could just point the way to me, I can track him down." He looks at Helstar. "I almost forgot, here." He tosses you a fairly heavy bag. "Here is the agreed upon money, though I am afraid your partrnership is worth nothing." Turning back to Tiemmo, he says "Please, sir, tell me the direction he went in." You can tell by the gleam in his eyes that he believes he has found the light at the end of the tunnel.
wesaynothin
Helstar bows gravely and puts the bag behind him. "I am sorry Mr. Beadle, but I do not believe Reevelord will be reachable for quite some time. I may suggest that you go check his offices though? I am sure he will not be needing any of his papers anymore, and they may help you with your search."
Melisande
Portia does her best to stifle a laugh at Helstar's statement about Reevelord. "Excuse, milord." She curtsies to Beadle. "We are in need of haste, but if we do find anything out about lord Reevelord's location, where is it we can reach you?" Before he can answer, she contiunues. "And if you can get going again, if you need anything done, perhaps we are the ones who might be able to do it for you." She curtsies again, and then begins to head off in the direction of the nearer temple.
Emry
Linden walks over to Helstar and quietly whispers, "With Reevelord's whereabouts unknown, it's highly doubtful that my party's going to get paid for their services. Speaking for Alenee and Eruanion, I think it best if cut our losses and get to the Temple."
Kethruch
June 05, 1048 1057 Beadle just looks at Helstar in bewilderment, not sure what to make of the last statement. He finally gives a "Very well then," and bids you adieu. The temple to Corithalion is the nearest, lying about two thirds of the way back to the castle. It is a large, grey stone structure three stories tall, and about a hundred feet on the side you are looking at. The corners facing the street end in circular turrets, with the crenellations on the tops one would expect in a fortified structure more than a temple. The door to the building is massive, and appears to be made of iron bound oak. Once again, it seems as though it would be more at home on a castle. There are several banners flying from the tops of what appears to be a taller, interior tower, that are recognizable as the banners of the kingdom, the duke of Arach (the highest ranking non-royal over the area), and, of course, in the center, the banner of Corithalion. The gate is open, and there are two ceremonially dressed apparent guards posted at the opening.
Malchik
Tiemmo mutters to the others. "Is this place open to all comers or do we need a pass? I don't think it's the kind of place to break in, although there are always the sewers."
Melisande
Portia looks at the imnposing building up and down. "I'm guessing we just walk up and enter. I t is a temple after all, don't they want people to come in?"
wesaynothin
Helstar looks at the group, and, without a word, walks up to the gate without paying attention to the guards.
