Emry
Muttering a quick prayer to Poeved, Linden follows Helstar.
Kethruch
June 05, 1048 1058 As you approach, one of the guards walks over and opens the gate in front of you, revealing a small courtyard with a tall tower in the center. A couple of hooded and robed figures are walking around the yard, some of them carrying things to the central tower. None seem to pay any attention to you for the moment. Malchik
Tiemmo has never been in a temple in his life. "Do they expect us?," he asks, uneasily. "Why do they hold the door open for us?" Everyone else seems to be walking in happily enough. He goes in sideways in a kind of cancroid scuttle. OOC> that might be 'crab-wise' in the US. Kethruch
June 05, 1048 1058 The guard laughs at the actions of Tiemmo. "No problem sir, we don't bite. We open the doors to all who seek the knowledge that they think lies behind locked doors. We symbolize the openness of thought that is required to see through the veils and trappings that so often keep us from realizing the true nature of things, of beliefs, and of the universe." He looks over at the other one and winks.
Melisande
Portia looks around the building, looking for the entrance to the inner building. Seeing everyone scurrying about makes her a little uneasy. "Why all of the activity?" She asks quielty, meaning to only think it, but saying it anyway. "I thought temples were supposed to be quiet places of study. At least the one where I learned was." She walks around the building, assuming the door to the tower is on the far side, as should befit any good fortified house.
Emry
Linden walks up to the guards. "Good sirs, could you direct me to the shrine of Poeved? I'd like to pay my respects."
Kethruch
June 05, 1048 1059 Prior to Linden's comment, the guards turn to each other. "Hey, that was a great explanation, I've got to remember that one." As Linden makes her request, the demeanor of the guards changes significantly. "That would be the Arcangelican temple you are looking for, sir." The one who was laughing a second ago says tersely. "They are now located inside the castle walls, this is now the temple to Corithalion." The look on his face matches the tone of his voice, and you get the feeling that the subject is an exceedingly touchy one. As Portia correctly guessed, the entrance to the tower is on the far side. Another heavy door with posted guards in elaborate uniforms. As Portia approaches, they hold this door open for her as well.
Guest
As the party passes the guards Orion says to the pary in general, "I am not exactly a religious person, but I do know recently the Arcangelicans and the Corithalions have just gone through one of their... "religious battles" I guess you could call it. From what I hear it happens now and again. The Arcangelicans are now in control of the inner temple. The Corithalion followers are really touchy, so I would tread carefully when discussing anything religious until you know who you are talking to." Malchik
Tiemmo laughs. "You needn't worry about me. I know nothing much about religion so I'll keep my mouth shut."
wesaynothin
"I think we should stay off the topic of Religion to. It's too widely debated." Helstar nods, as he follows Portia through the doors.
