Arcangel - The Beginning

OOC: I'd just like to make note that hurricane Frances is supposed to hit us tomorrow (Florida that is), and I may be out for an indefinite amount of time. I hope it doesn't knock our power out for more then a couple of days, but there is no telling what kind of damage a storm of this size (it is bigger then Florida itself) is gona do.

IC:

Wordlessly, Altarus followed behind them, waving slightly in Eriollis' genral direction even though there was little chance of the man seeing it. Then he took another lumbering step out into the open air, almost sighing with relief at it. Slowly, he started working his way up the street behind Linden and Tiemmo, only looking down to make sure he was still behind them. Something about him just didn't seem barbaric as he moved, yet he still managed to wrap that image tightly about his appearance.

Portia falls in beside Krixox. Even though she would like to be next to the newcomer, she feels somewhat uncomfortable around him. Something happens that makes her training seem to flit away. Even so, she is happy they are goingt o the temple. "Krixox." She finally says. "Tell me about your home. What brought you all of the way out here? The Dwarves I heard of live In the mountains so far away that I thought I'd never see one?"

OOC - Good luck Shadow - I'll try not to get you killed over the next couple of days.. ;)

Krixox looks at Portia, then laughs. "The Coroboron is indeed a far bit from here. Indeed, it is, I am told it lies a month's travel past the furthest human kingdoms, though I have never been there. My father brought me with him to the human lands when I was little, and it is all I remember."

The trip back to the castle is uneventful, and it even seems as though the procession that went through before never happened. Once inside the castle, however, you can see some of the remnants of that procession, but over by the main keep rather than toward the temple.

The temple is a huge structure, many times larger than the one to Corithalion. Massively built, with eight flying buttresses down the side that is toward you, the roof of the building is easily thirty feet above you. The main entrance is on the far end, and there are two guards standing there in what appears to be ornate silvery ceremonial armor, with fine, red tunics underneath.

As you approach, they snap to attention. "Your business with the Temple at this hour, milords and ladies?" One of them asks politely. "We would be happy to direct you to your destination if you wish."

Linden walks briskly towards the guards and salutes them. "Sirs. My name is Linden Wolf, paladin initate and follower of Poeved. I have come to speak with and receive counsel by members of my Order about recent events which have transpired within the City. Would you be so kind as to direct me to the Church Offices or the Chapterhouse?"

Portia looks at the guards, trying to remember if she remembers them fromt he last time they were here. She gives them a wry look, then decides that there's no real reason to doubt them. "I'm with him." She says quickly, getting ready to follow when the guards allow it.

Sorry for the absence, but now I'm back...

The guard looks at Linden carefully, then laughs. "Of course, milord." He says, bowing deeply. With the move, the church offices are wherever you find Parr. Since you haven't been here, please look for an older, rotund gentleman with a heavy silver robe with red trim. You chapter, however, you will have to find yourself. I would look to see if the interior shrines have been set up, and then look to your patron to see if you can be helped." He finishes his little speech and again bows deeply, this time his hand out stretched. The other guard looks at the rest of the party. "Any other questions?" He asks.

Portia looks at the others, and feels at her own meager pouch. She takes out one of the final coins, and presses it into the guard's palm. "Thank you, my lord." She says curtly, with none of the feeling that her speech to the storekeeper had. She pushes through, and looks around the temple, trying to take everything in.

Linden nods to the guard (grumbling under her breath that she is not a "milord"....) and hurries over to Portia. "Damn. I missed that one." She fumbles for her own belt pouch and pulls out a coin to give to Portia. "Here take this. I should have greased his palm, not you. Thanks for catching my slip. "

She takes a moment to slowdown and look at the Temple. "My it is impressive, isn't it?" she breathes awestruck. She looks around and sees if she can see a shrine to Poeved.
