Kethruch
June 05, 1048 1158 "Interesting you should ask about those." The man says to Tiemmo. The man seems like a fop. Delicate of nature, high-spoken, and the kind of skin that looks like it has rarely seen the sun. "This tower is the oldest part of the temple. It is sealed and holy to the temple, and is the main reason we have fought for so long to get this holy temple to the Arcangelicans back. Within are the remains of Aolious the Meek, the greatest priest in all of Arcangelican history. They are our holy relics, and they are protected by great mystical powers. The axes represent the power, and they are crossed denoting the peace. This tower was the first truly holy site except for the ancient ruins of Ar-araba." he makes a motion with his hands. "The Corithalions believe that it holds the remains of Corithalion himself, but I ask you, why would a god leave remains?" He looks for a second as if expecting a response, then conitinues. "Parr should be overseeing the placing of the altar. He has to reconsecrate the area and the altar itself. I'd ask for him there."
Malchik
Tiemmo logs the information to inform the others when he meets them again. "Is the altar further up here, or in the main temple?" he enquires.
Melisande
"Thank you." Portia says to the gentleman. She sees Tiemmo heading off to the wings, and figures to head back toward the recesses of the temple. She tries to take note of what she can see as she moves back toward the altar area. She looks around, trying to find someone who meets Parr's description.
Kethruch
June 05, 1048 1200 The man looks at Tiemmo. "Of course not," he says with an edge to his voice. "The altar is in the main hall, towards the back, right where any altar should be. If you look, you might find it." With that he turns brusquely and heads back up the stairs. After the man leaves, Tiemmo feels a strange thing drawing his attention to the large silver axes. He can't put his finger on it, but it is almost as if they were calling to him. (Tiemmo - observation 105, RR 26 tot exp = 45) Melisande walks back toward the altar, apparently hardly noticed by the workers. As she gets closer, there seem to be more people, though these are dressed differently. There are several men who seem to meet Parr's description. In fact, it appears almost as though it is a requirement for all gentlemen in robes to look like him. Several seem to be in a group at the altar, a huge grey polished rectangle of some kind of stone, obviously very old if the wear patterns are to be believed. These seem to be talking amongst each other, with one in the center listening to the others as they seem to be arguing about something. Emry
Linden walks slowly around looking at the various niches. If she finds a shrine to Poeved, she will offer up an offering and pray for wisdom and guidance.
Malchik
Tiemmo puts his hand close to one of the axes. If he feels no problem can come from touching it, he will do so.
Melisande
PORTIA, (Melisande is here? I know this is a temple), goes to the small group of men and listens carefully for a little bit. After a short time, if the discussion seems to be continuing on without stopping, she interjects. "Excuse me good sirs," she says, curtseying. "Perhaps one of you good gentles could direct me toward the good priest Parr? I was told to ask for him by the altar." She does her best coquette imitation, and looks around the faces of the men. Kethruch
June 05, 1048 1201 LOL - sorry Melisande, yes, change the Melisandes in my prior post to Portias. whipping myself with a wet noodle at the moment for the error. Linden finds a statue of Poeved in a seemingly negelected niche along the right hand side of the temple. The statue is still half in a crate, with straw strewn around. A small ornamental table is covered with many ornate statuettes, some of them of the right style to belong here, others obviously relating to other gods and godesses. A basintop is leaning against the wall, and the stand upon which it would seem to go is standing in place, about a foot and a half from the wall. The man in the center seems to be talking about some rite or ritual when Potia interrupts. "Well, child," he says, bowing. "I am Parr, high priest of the Arcangelicals here in Toof. Could your business with me perhaps wait a few minutes? I would be more than happy to talk with you in as soon as I am done here." He looks at Portia with sparkling light blue eyes that seem full of love and hope. Tiemmo's hand nears the silver emblem with no apparent ill effect. He moves closer and touches it. As he does so, his mind is filled with visions, of an idyllic place, with a type of utopian feel to it, as if evil no longer existed in the world. He sees a man in the center, a priest of some sort, dressed in blue with a white hood, tending to the sick, granting miracles where needed, counseling those who sought his wisdom. These are suddenly replaced by horrific scenes from a war, bloody and terrible. Again, the scene changes back to the man in the blue and white robe tending to the fallen. The scenes change back and forth between horrific and peaceful, until finally there is one that chills Tiemmo's blood. A great creature, horrific to look at, followed immediately by the prone form of the man in blue and white, two great axes protruding from his back. Malchik
OOC> are the axes in his back the same as those in the emblem or can I not tell? Tiemmo makes a careful drawing of the emblem. Then, sounding intentionally nervous he cries "Sir, Sir" after the man who returned up stairs. He moves shakily after him. He tries to appear very upset while actually being very alert to his surroundings. If the visions can be believed those axes were used by something evil he has no wish to meet. But Melisande had met her death at the hands of something evil and he wants to avenge it. Extreme caution is needed, he tells himself, no revenge can be obtained once you're dead. Again he wails nervously "sir, sir!"
Kethruch
OOC - Happy Birthday arcangel thread!!! One year and counting!!! June 05, 1048 1202 The gentleman comes back down the stairs, a look of total exasperation on his face. "Yes?" He says very much like he is irritated at the thought that he has to deal with you. He comes down to where Tiemmo is standing.
