Arcangel - The Beginning

Linden looks around at the state of disarray in the niche and sighs with sadness. She walks over to the statue and touches it lightly, reverantly. She bows her head in prayer.

"My Lord, hear the words of your humble servant. I live to serve you, but I fear the path which lies ahead. There is evil abroad which I do not understand; evil that I may have accidently awakened. Please grant me guidance and wisdom that I may know your will and faithfully do your bidding. I do not fear the tasks you place before me, for I know that you walk with me. You are the courage of my heart and strength of my arm. Help me to serve you faithfully and with honor. In your holy name, I pray."

Tiemmo is doing his best to act as if he is scared.

"I just had the most horrible vision. I was looking at the axes and - it was as if - I don't understand. It was awful. I think I'm going to faint!"

He half tips onto the man apparently incoherent but actually trying to get past him.

"Is there a chair I can sit on somewhere? What happened to this Aeolius the Meek? Where did you say the axes were found? Why did this happen to me?"

Tiemmo babbles on while trying to get to the top of the stairs.

OOC: Yes, I'm still here, just not having much to do at the moment.

IC: Altarus wanders about in a sort of circular movement. He notes, with interest, the manner that Linden examines the statue of her god. He glances away respectfully as she starts to pray, turning his attention to Tiemmo, just as he falls into a man in an attempt to make for the stairs. It almost brought a chuckle, would have in fact, had he not remembered where he was.

He felt out of place in a temple, all the smooth surfaces and sharp edges of the enviorment, the walls, the people bustling to and fro... It made him somehow weary, tired of all the activity and perhaps afraid--to a degree. He knew, even if he hadn't felt so, he looked out of place, the rough exterior a stark contrast to the polished statues and colorful tapestries. It made him long even more to be outside, in the street at least, but he said nothing. His expression remained motionless. His movement regular, each step in pace, as he made another ponderous round of the room...

happy birthday (late) I guess.....BTW thought I was in the wrong place...what's up with the forums?

Portia looks at Parr almost dumbfounded. "Of course sir, I will await you at your soonest convenience." She bows, backs away, and then looks around. She sees Altarus looking somewhat lost and motions for him to come over. She realizes that no one's really told him exactly whyt hey are here.

Portia waits until Altarus gets there, then maneuvers to a position to where she can see him and keep an eye on Parr for any sign that he could want to talk to her.

"I'm sorry," she says apoloigetically. "I just realized that no one has really explained to you why we are here." She goes into the whole spiel about the battle with Bengt. She halts for a second. "What do you know about prophecy?" She asks him. "We are here to try to figure out what it means." She then goes on to explain the scenes both in the captain of the guards chamber and in Eriollis's shop.

(I'll be happy to explain later if you haven't read it through the thread)

"It does seem that we are all tied together somehow, and we are here to go through and try to figure out what we need to do and how we are tied. I have gotten the attention of Parr, perhaps you could find the one with the most knowledge of prophecy and see if there's anything that they know. I don't think it's Parr, but if it is we can work together. The ones in the robes seem to be the priests. Perhaps you can find out more than I can with Parr from someone else."

The man comes down to Tiemmo, his earlier exasperation turning to wonder. "How did, what did, waht was it that you saw, my lord?" he gives Tiemmo a slender arm for support and walks him gently to the top of the stair. "Sit, my lord, and gather yourself. It is rare that one reacts as you did, and I must beg your forgiveness to have you recount the matter when you are able. Quillus!!" He shouts, and a man turns and comes to the top of the stair. "Grab your parchments, this good gentleman was granted with a vision of the exalted one. We must document this for the archives." From what Tiemmo can tell, the axes here are stylized, and the multiple sets of them would say they were not the identical ones from the vision.

Portia sees that Parr is almost done, and he begins to walk over to her.

Linden feels a warm feeling well up in her. She feels as though her voice was answered, though not directly.

"I'm not sure, my lord." The effete man says. "What you experienced we call 'the calling.' Oh this is indeed a wondrous thing, and must be seen as proof that we do belong here, back in our home. Here, in this wondrous event, we now can show those who doubt us that we are right and we are here."

The other man comes over and sits by Tiemmo. "Excuse, milord. I am Brother Quillus, the chronicler for the most high Parr. What is it I can do for...." Before he can finish, the first man again chimes in.

"He had it, he had a vision." the first man says, his excitement unbound. "I would like it to be shown that I was the finder and the witness for the event."

Brother Quillus shoots the man a harsh look. "Yes, of course," he says in a flat tone, as if he's answering a question on the weather from a man already outside. "I'll handle all of the official citations." Brother Quillus turns back to Tiemmo. "Please explain what you saw." He listens as Tiemmo recounts the experience again (assuming you want to, otherwise let me know). He listens intently, asking questions at certain points to clarify things. "Within a few minutes, it is over.

"I cannot say what this means, for I am a chronicler, not an interpreter." He concludes. "I will relay your wish for an interpreter immediately, however. I thank you for your time and your patience. Perhaps you can direct him to Lord Parr?" He says to the other man, his voice dripping in underlying meaning. He then bows, stands up, and heads up the stairs and disappears.

"Oh what a wondrous day!" The initial man says again. "The first vision since we're here, and I, Horonos the meek, will be exalted for all time for being the witness! Come, follow me, we MUST bring this to Parr's attention immediately!" He heads down the stairs, practically flying down them.
