UchihaAtae
Well im only just starting to get into modding, and I would like to do some retexturing, however I can't seem to open the dds files so I can edit them. I have photoshop cs5, and gimp, and I have also downloaded the dds plugins, but they still won't open. I've also tried using a dds converter, which didn't work. Can anyone please help me figure this out.

Not sure where it goes in photoshop.

Nope I've definitely loaded the plugins correctly, just keeps bringing an error box up when i try using gimp, and photoshop keeps creating new blank sheets when i try opening with that, it's really bugging me now. Quetzlsacatanango
Why don't you try telling us what the error is?
UchihaAtae
Well as i've said, with photoshop when I open a dds file it just brings up the option box for creating a new blank document, doesn't replace the dds or anything, neither does it bring up an error message which is just irritating. As for gimp, when i try to open a file, it brings up an error message box saying, invalid dds file, invalid dds header, and some other crap just re-iterating what it has already stated. I'm pretty damn sure i've installed the plugins correctly, followed any and all instructions.
Quetzlsacatanango
Try opening it with paint.net. It's free and reads and writes dds natively, so you won't have to wonder if it's a plugin issue. If you still have an issue I'd guess it's an issue with your file, not the app.
