could some one help me by telling me if windows 7 is better to mod than vista my last laptop was vista and sum mods didnt work. i think its was cuz of the secruity or somethink on vista but i now have windows 7

Mods on Vista and Win7 work exactly the same. They both have the UAC security that gave you problems in the past. To get away from UAC problems. install outside of the protected 'program files' folders.

 

I recommend installing to C:\Games\Oblivion

 

This works for most other games as well. If you use Steam, you will have to install the steam client to C:\Games\Steam. Then all steam games will install to that location and not be affected by UAC.
